AMI CUSTOMS Posted January 22, 2011 Report Posted January 22, 2011 You batteries charge faster when in a bank because the battery capacity is feeding itself, one battery is powering the other battery, so the capacity raises faster when connected, the charger doesn't have to work as hard. When batteries are connected in parallel the capacity is added of the whole bank, this is your reserve capacity. Force charging an AGM battery to get a "deeper charge" as you have put it is not something I would recommend. You need a manual charger, not an automatic one to do this and you can run the risk of bulging the battery and causing it to swell.
