5K Mobile Electronics
We built some doors for one of my installers last week, did some 10" Rockford R1's, and some cheap(yet very effective) giant horn tweets(American somthin, 700 watts?), anywho, we're powering that set with a PPI PCX-2200 high passed at about 40hz, sounds excellent, but the problem is I'm letting him use my Quart QSD 216 crossovers untill we can get him a decent passive crossover set up. Will We be able to throw any 2 way c/o in there and not worry about the power going in? Or will we need to build some custom c/o's ourselves? I'll post some pics of the doors after I switch over to windows(using my imac with win7 & OSX) the mac doesn't like my canon for some reason. Reallunacy
I would assume you would want to look at that frequencies the system handles well and find some crossovers that match that as well as making sure the crossovers power distribution matches what you want. AI James
most passive crossovers arent going to like tons of power, so you may be looking at creating something of your own
icewall
yup, best to create your own as passives are made for specific drivers, change one variable such as impedance or inductance and crossover points end up different than intended.
