I was wondering what things I need to do and know to make this happen?? If I'm not mistaken all you need to do is connect the battery to the alternator and then to your system?? Never2MuchBass Posted January 25, 2011 Report Posted January 25, 2011 I would hook your system up on just the one battery and see what it does first because I'm running 2050 watts rms on a stock alternator with a interstate mega-tron battery and the big 3 and I haven't had a problem yet and no clipping. The 3 comes in because there are 3 wires that are upgraded to usually 1/0 gauge wire and they are 1. the battery positive to alternator 2. engine block to chassis ground and 3. battery ground to chassis ground. Just making sure Now to answer the OP, Typically running 1500w on a stock alt and battery will be perfectly fine, now when you start keeping up there in the more power area is when a rear battery would come into play and to wire the rear battery is simple run a positive and ground line from your front battery to your rear.
