It sounds to me that you have the ohm load to low and its making your amp unstable then it eventually goes into protect mode. If you keep doing this you will eventually fry the psu. Try wiring your subs to a 4ohm load and it shouldn't cut out like that.

And the fact more than one person agrees does not make it a circle jerk, it makes it a bukkake scene and you're in the middle ;)

its at a 4 ohm load. i chcked with a dmm. and the protect light has never come on.

i do mention. when it pops...it fucking POPS. sometimes multiple times. and loud

Definitely sounds like an RCA problem, like your subs are grounding out, could be the HU...hopefully not the amp...

Definitely sounds like an RCA problem, like your subs are grounding out, could be the HU...hopefully not the amp...

im really hoping its the headunit. im gonna try different RCAs..then if that fails do the grounding thing...

anyway to test if its the amp or not?

Just outta curiosity, have you checked your power wire fuse? Mine was doing that the other day, turned out the Scosche fuse holders don't like anything more than 50 amps. Fuse was crisp, and it was the right size (100A). Switched it over (finally) to my ANL holder, and worked like a charm.
