Amd run hotter den intel?? Load of crap it depends on cooling and if your using some tiny case den of course its going to get hot.. I hate intel with passon!! There damm slow! All pc i build or recomend i go for AMD cpu's and use the supplyed fan and heat shink mine runs at 25c on idle and max load at 35c ,avg at 28-30c .. Amd cpu can be clocked higher then intel.

every ones veiw is basied towards what ever they have used.. The OS that is used make a huge diffrence along with how much memory and which drives are used.

If your in the states , then check out: http://www.digitalstormonline.com/

Cant rate them highly enough!! They make the most hardcore pc's about.. Will be building and picking another one from them in summer.

As far as porn goes it depends on your connection speed , if your rich you can have your own private fiber line with 1Gb/s speeds cost you upwards from $20k

^^bad man. I heard wrong. Honestly, I can't imagine anything needing 5GHz other than servers...and maybe my next gaming computer.

Its all good. I thought the same thing when I first heard about them too.

OP: It really all comes down to choice. Most of the time you wont notice a difference in speed between the 2 companies. Also they both cost roughly the same but intel does tend to be a little more expensive. The price difference can be as little as $50. The only big difference is that you cant use nvidia's sli technology with amd motherboards ( unless you buy one of the higher end "fusion" motherboards). Intel motherboards are a little different in that you can use sli or crossfire. If you need help choosing products or building a computer there are several people on this forum that could help you with it. Also you could go HERE to get help

It really depends on what you will be doing with your computer. An also your price range. So if you could clarify that would help.

As most said you won't notice the difference while daily computing.

I personally would go with Intel right now. They just released sandy bridge and it's extremely fast. Core per core amd can't mach intel's performance.

I would suggest picking up a 2500k. It's the fastest processor for about $200. People are hitting 4.0 ghz easy on air and higher on better cooling.

Also make sure you pick up a P67 board if you want to overclock.

No you've got it wrong lol. If you want to use SLI on an amd board you either need a board with a nvidia chipset or a board with hydra lucid. But some of the hydra boards are pricey. Plus not a lot of people run SLI or CF. Not everyone is pushing multiple monitors or ridiculous resolutions. Fusion or Llano doesn't come out it till Q2. Fusion is a discrete solution for people that need some decent graphics performance but not enough to justify having a dedicated video card.
