bignickk
a couple questions but first, sick build. im lovin everything. and you better keep up that kind of work lol. ok firstly idk what your final thoughts are about the amps but didnt you use plexi glass for the battery rack? if so do you have left over to have a plexi glass cover for the amps? i think that would be sick. secondly i also have a isolater but i noticed how you like it better without ti. why is that? i might have to take mine off Thanks man, glad you like it! I LOVE the amps, both of them! I am super impressed, they have nice sound quality, and are way loud! And about the isolator, it just sucks for the use of car audio. It only trickle charges the rear battery, and we need ALL the voltage, not just some of it. They are more for 4X4 or off road use. I'd take it off, if not your rear battery will suffer. And thanks for reading! well thanks to you i will be taking off the isolater tommorow. i will let you know how the system handels it. i know when it starts to drop so ill keep an eye on the voltage and hopefully it incerses lol. 2000 tahoe orion hcca 15.4 kicker zx2500 2 JL 300/4s infinity and kicker mids/highs KHC1400 in back, stock upfront dont ask about my HU clarion EQ kicker/fosgate rcas
Purplehaze
start by asking yourself what are your goals for the system? what will "satisfy" you? something you won't want to change after a few months and what are you willing to maintain? This right here is the best advice I have gotten so far. I agree 100%! What I really need to do is to finish my install with what I have already, and take my time and really just "think". Thank you VERY much for that, you are exactly right! Purplehaze
Hey guys, not much to update today. Got my front cv's today, so now I'm ready tomorrow to install them, new bearings, and a complete Energy Suspension polyurethane bushing kit. I may wait to do all of the bushings, b/c I have new springs ordered for the front and rear. Also it needs new brakes front and back, so I may just hold off until I can save up for some EBC red stuff or something nice. But anyway, here is the bushing kit, bearings, and new cv joints. Also Got one of my new emblems in the mail today. I think it looks WAY better than the old factory "Touring Edition" crap. So what do you guys think? ptcary
Don't lower your pt on the stock shocks! I have H&R springs on Gabriels, but Tokico blues are best. Factory shocks are Tokico but not blues. Have fun with the bushing kit! Purplehaze
Well, yesterday was one of the best days I have ever had. Which may sound crazy since I worked on the Cruiser for over 12 hours! It all started yesterday morning, when I went to get my son, Shane, up for school. He moaned and complained of how sick he was, so I told him to go back to bed. But a couple of hrs later, as I was leaving to work on my car, Shane was "all better", so I told him he could either go on to school, or go w/ me to work on my car, but he was NOT gonna stay home and party all day! Needless to say, he chose work over school! (Good thing this was only his second missed day of school!) So, my 12 year old son got his hands dirty yesterday for the first time, and I must say, I am totally impressed! He jumped rt in there, wasn't scared AT ALL! We got a lot of stuff done, and really had fun doing it! 3 extra meals = $20 1 day of missed school = extra homework Quality Father and Son time = priceless. I just feel truly blessed to get to spend the day with both my father and my son! Life is good! So, here are a few pics of me and Shane "doin work"! A few of the car. ptcary called it on those bushings! I only got the control arm bushings and front sway bar bushings changed, and they are fun! Oh well, another day! Got the bearings and cv joints in, and that was needed the most. I'll probably just have the shop do the other bushings, springs, and alignment all at once, save me a lot of time! Also changed tranny fluid and filter (yep that's me) Shane was doing perverted stuff to the tire! Hahaha kids!
