how to make 5 1/4 to 6 1/2 speaker ring adaptor

ok so my stock door speakers are 5 1/4 and my new speakers are 6 1/2 what the best way and how do i make an adapter to make them fit ?

i made some adapters for a friend trying to fit 6.5s with a big magnet in a honda accord with stock opening for a 5.25. The adapter made out of 3/4 mdf served as spacers for window clearance. all i did was take out the stock adapters and trace them out on the mdf, including the mounting holes and then cut them to fit the 6.5. since the speaker baskets tend to taper down as you get closer to the magnet it should fit into the stock opening with the mdf spacer/adapter. hope this helps
