Amp just stopped working

So i know the things I am suppose to check but i just want to get other peoples thoughts on this because i am at a lose ATM. I was driving to work playing the stereo. Amp is an AQ 3500.1 and subs are omega 12's. Wired at .7 ohms nominal. gain is 1/4 the way up on amp, not far at all as i am waiting on omega recones. Volume was literally a little more than 1/2 ( 24 of 40 ) and i was watching voltage. lowest i saw was 13.5 volts @ the amp. My electrical consists of stock battery, d3400 in parellel in the back, big 3 everywhere, Singer 250 amp alternator. Rpms where at 1500 - 1600 or so cruising at 48 mph. The amp just stopped working almost like someone turned it off. so i shut the radio off pull over. Amp is cold not warm at all. no loose connections. i check the relay that i installed that powers the amp turn on, 14 volts all sides of relay. I check BOTH positive inputs on the amp and they read about 7 volts. amp wont turn on. Subs aren't even warm either. When radio killed there was no smoke, no noise, no static basically no sign that something was wrong. any thoughts or do i have to pull the amp and send it in ?

Do you mean the 12V that is supposed to be coming into the amp is sitting at 7V?

Yes, The amp has dual inputs, and both of those inputs read 7 or so volts. i couldn't reach the remote wire on the amp but i know the relay which is connected to the remote wire is reading 14 volts.

if thats the case you have a power problem they will not turn on that low. it only takes three things to power on an amp ground power and a turnon signal

check your fuses under hood or follow your wiring. you have an issue on your power side.

Nate, when you say power problem what are you in telling? because i checked the d3400 battery in back, and it reads 14.4 volts. that battery has 2 power wires running off of it that go to the amp. so the amp is getting power to it , seems like it won't take it.

the battery up front has a positive run to the rear battery. on that run of wire there are 2 fuses that have to be good because i am getting 14 volts at both batteries while the car is running. From the second battery to the amp on thos TWO positve runs i was told not to fuse because its so short. like a foot of wire each.

i will check that, i guess its possible i wasn't holding the meter on the wire tight. I can check in a couple hours. I am just hoping that the amp isn't blown or shorted out

Told not to fuse those by who? Positive inputs on amps should ALWAYS be fused unless you don't care if you blow amps like a $2 hooker blows dicks.
