FlashvHD
I currently have 4 sundown x 12s and have the opportunity of switching them out for 2 zv4 12s. The zv4s would be a little bit better for space.. Either would be ran on a crescendo 5500 @.5. What would you go with?

TRON
So you have the four X's running off the 5500 right now? I'd keep the four X's only because its more cone area, even though the Zv4's are better in over all performance. mrd6
How much air space do you have? the zv4s will be louder if you cant give enough space for all of the xs... FlashvHD
I have not built the box for the xs yet I have the box designed for them however. It's about 8.5 cubic foot net. Tuned at 33hertz with 120 sq in of port
TRON
Maybe a bit more port area if you can fit it, but other than that it should be nice. Weigel21
Not to rain on the parade, but wouldn't this be a vs thread?
FlashvHD
It's the same brand..
CleanSierra
They don't consider product comparisons within the same manufacturer as a vs. thread. The reason being is that the Vs. threads being out nuthuggers of company A vs company B and it's a shitshow. When it's all within the same company, it's less prone to happen. OP, I'd stick with the Xs. Twice the cone area. I'd bump the port area up though from 120" to like 160". Also, that [email protected] ohms would be a lot for those Zv4s. I know everyone and their cousin knows as guy that ran 2 NS-1s at .25 ohms to one sub, but this is the real world. I was in a Mazda3 with 2 Zv4 12s on a Skar 4500 @ .5 ohms and they got smelly quick. FlashvHD
Thanks for the input man! I might be able to get the port area up to about 140 idk about 160 I'll play with it tonight when I get off work. I think with the 120 it's about 13.8 port area per cubic foot. In your experience would it be louder to have a port going across the bottom of the box or up and down on the passanger side?
