Jensen POS. its like the VM8012 or something. Bought it like 2 years ago because i thought the dvd feature was cool and i would actually use it. I have never once watched a movie on the fucking thing. I need to replace it with a new HU of course but for a nice one, its so god damn expensive and I figure there are other priorities like a new alt before I get that.

Well my problem is, what if this doesnt power the subwoofer properly? I mean I had my gain at around 2/5 with the subwoofer volume at max on my HU, the bass boost on the HU to about +5 to get it to do much of anything.

Dear lord so basically I will save around $120 total if I just do it myself? How hard is it to recone the subwoofer myself? Thats too much money in shipping for me right now.

I just do not know how to tune properly. No one around here knows jack shit about audio whatsoever so I am sort of taking a shot in the dark. EVERYTHING I have learned is from online forums, mainly this one. I just really want to understand tuning but I cant really figure it out, let alone find someone to help me.

My gain is about 2/3 the way up but without doing so, the sub doesnt get loud. Should I just keep it on around 1/2 and press the "loud" button? To be honest, it was probably user error. Im not gonna beat around the bush as this was my first real setup doing myself and Im not really fully understand tuning the amplifier.

No, the phasing it definitely correct. I have two different colored wires, blue to pos, silver to neg. Idk man, im just kinda irritated about the whole thing but whatever. And the BTL was full loaded with all options set as daily and non universal.

yea thats what im not fully getting. My friend and I are stumped as to what happend. Im only pushing around 3000rms to it since I cant hold 14.4 volts. I keep it around 12.8-13.4 Like I know Meade is in a whole different ball game then me along with 00dimes but hell they are both pushing 4500-5000 rms to each of their btls daily. Im just kinda confused as to what happened. Is there any sort of chance that maybe I got some faulty parts? And as far as phasing, what do you mean? Its wired for 1ohm and I know this because i triple checked it before i put this bohemith in.

Today My 12" BTL that I purchased in late April started to smoke today. I have the subwoofer in a ported box around 3cuft to a Crunch GP3000D Pro. I was driving today and out of no where my subwoofer started to cut out and I thought that it was probably a wire coming loose or something so i just turned it down. Then I smell this awful burning smell and look back and the back seat of my car is being filled with a whitish smoke. I am assuming that somehow the voice coils burnt up. What would I need to do to have this fixed? A recone? And what does the FI warranty cover because I wasnt really pushing the subwoofer as hard as it could go. It was about half tilt when it started to cut out. Anyone know how much a full recone will cost me if I send it to scott and nick at fi for them to do it? Thanks guys!

Get an alpine type r off of ebay. They are dirt cheap.
