not all subs use 12-16sqin. some subs like 20+ sqin. the 9500 dd's call for 20sqin.

honestly it sounds like your stuck on what you got. the alphas get plenty loud. so if you build a good box you will get louder. you just gotta suckit up and do it

see all the 9500's i have used never had that hollow sound. after seeing the subs and finally reading why people like the dc's, i really do want to try them out. airspace and port wise do they like bigger or smaller then the dd's

if you look at the new 2500 series its a 10g, also i have 2 9518g's that are 10g also

i have used damn near every dd sub available, i have only seen the dc sub. so i stated what i thought visually. i want to know from the people who have used them both how they sound and hold up compared to the dd subs. thats all

yea ok. maybe the title should have been visual opinions. but i figured that since it said MY VIEWS, people would be smart enough to read what was wrote and not take it out of context. jesus man i didnt down dc, i stated my opinions on visual comparisions. so you have used both great, so you stand by your dc's even better. then explain why dc over dd. i want to know. thats why i started this thread. but people get pissy and dont want to give there opinions if they've used both of em. oh yea and notice the part that asks if anyone has had to chance to actually compare them, which means full out compare them, sound and everything

i know first hand the quality of dd, i have seen the top notch customer service of dc on here. i have seen the praise people give dc. so i was curious bout the two compared side by side. but i guess i wasnt supposed to do that. i'll still try a set of dc's but when i do i'll keep it to myself so i dont upset people

yes i know all this. but nevermind, i was just giving my visual thoughts on the similarities and differences between the two. because i have been curious myself. but it seems like if you compare anything against a dc sub people get mad. thats why i said i want to try a set of these. they look like a great sub. but i guess i'll just join the masses and keep my opinions to myself and not ask anybody theres. because we all know that anyone with a different opinion or mind of there own is a bad thing.

sorry but pics on the net are different then seeing them in person. just look at all the chicks on myspace. they look hot til you see em in person. it was written to see if others have seen the 9500's and the lvlxl's, in person, not in pictures. in pictures it looks like the lvlxl is bigger.

well i've been running dd subs forever. i finally got to check out a dc lvl4xl 18 the other day. these are just my views, not bashing. just wonder if anybody else has actually had a chance to compair them. first the cone, it looks really similar to the dd cone. just doesnt look as beefy. but it looks like it might be lighter. so maybe a quicker responce. second the basket. looks almost identicle to the dd 6 spoke basket. third connections. dd has direct connections with 10g leads, the dc has the push terminals. dont like the way the look. i guess im spoiled by the direct connect. fourth the motors. im not sure, but the dc motor looks the same as the dd motor just a lil smaller. overall the look like a beefy sub. now when he gets em in lets see how they sound. from the look of these subs i may just have to try a set. they look like a solid built sub. i just hope nobody takes this thread the wrong way.

yes sb is a 30 second average. you want a song that doesnt have any pauses in it. but the song you play has to have at least three different bass notes, so it cant be considered a tone. and you can only run a store bought cd. no burnt cd's, no mp3 players, no ipod's...etc. and for the rules go to soundoff.org and read the rules section
