    Vote For Sotm

I'm going with GP even though I'm on the list - his stuff is crazy, and all garage-made - no shop or other people's work whatsoever. . I'm going for longest non-winning nominee in SMD history.
  3. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Suburban-25...124624723QQrdZ1 after shipping it was 140something...
  4. Well, everytime I take my truck apart to mess with the system, I feel bad for it and have to buy it something new. I was having some brake fade on really hot days and serious squeak on rainy days, so I went with some drilled/slotted rotors and a set of ceramic pads. What a pain to change these suckers out..... If anybody has messed with 4x4 chevy's especially the HD types, these things suck to change. First there's the axle nut (165 foot pounds), the caliper is cake, then the rotor/hub assy are held on by 4 15mm bolts in close proximity to the CV boot that love to round off (I got lucky and only fucked up one - 6 point socket and all) Then the hub and rotor are held together with the lug studs, so you have to beat those suckers out without messing them up..... The one I rounded off took 2 hours to drill out (the top right one) because I didn't want to mess up the boot... It's really close with a 3/4" drill bit. But they turned out really nice, and I'll post up how they work out compared to the old stuff... The truck looks really happy though...
  5. He's right - I've used 3M 77, and 90.. and when the inside of the truck got above 100-110 it let go and never held after that. the suretack 92 is way better, but still iffy for summertime. The Weldwood has held up easily in the hottest days with no problems. It's not cheap by far, but you get what you pay for.
  6. 6-8 cubes with at least 100 inches of port..
  7. I'm the same way - Totally loved the Transformers since I was a kid, now I had a part in the new movie (kind of). Still have some of the G1 toys, Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, soundwave, etc.... And I got my son hooked on the original movie too... Here Was my post on it If you didn't see.... http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/ind...?showtopic=7052
  8. Getting closer..... There's Rumour out that Blackout gets killed by Optimus Prime himself.... That would be sweet!!!! Put down by the man!
  9. Got it all finished up and back in the Burban today.. it was like 103....sucked I had a chance to tweak the mids/highs while the box was out and It sounds incredible now. That Audiocontrol DQS is a beautiful piece of equipment. So here is the refinshed piece..
  10. Pretty much finished up today. I love how soft the foam makes everything look and feel. Hopefully I'll be bumping again by Friday!
  11. Started on the vinyl.. I upgraded from the cheaper vinyl that I used the last time to a really nice 2 way stretch that I used on my door panels. It's a little darker, and looks really nice - especially when sitting on a nice layer of foam.. I'll finish up tomorrow - it's bedtime soon..
  12. Yeah, hard lessons learned. I'm well underway with this weldwood/foam/vinyl project - I'll post up some pics in a little bit. Good news is tha I had switched from the 3m to the sprayway 92 prior to doing all my door panels..
  13. I have new terminals in the mail as we speak. They were ugly, but not seen, and served their purpose.
  14. I picked up a chunk of Weldwood, so I should be good to go now, just waiting on the vinyl. I'm going a little darker to match the rest of the stuff I recovered.
  15. If you didn't know, this box used to look beautiful, covered in a nice gray vinyl, but one little heat bubble erupted into........I don't even want to talk about it anymore....
  16. I guess 3M didn't make their glue strong enough to hold up to the Albuquerque Heat..... 3M spray glue is banned from my Garage from now on.....
