  1. Yeah, I knew about the entire gas line...but the issue that they have been having is passing the CARB emissions stuff. As you know...edge is the way to go. They know they stuffI've never met Ed Rossi, but I will say that he definately is in with a good company. The guys at Edge are awesome!!!!So do you own your own shop?? Sorry, I don't know your background.
  2. Which one?Brett, Taylor, Aaron?Dem guys at Edge are cool as hell. Very Knowledgeable and make probably the best products on the market. Team them up with Diesel Dynamics and Bill Kondolay..and you have an unbeatable team
  3. Seriously, I'd drive both (auto and manual) around and see what fits your style.I ended up going with a manual this time, just cause I'm not on the track anymore...and it has now become my toy hauler. Every weekend, I trailer up the R1 and take her to the track now ;D
  4. Depends on the application and what/how you will be using the power for. If your towing..get a manual. If you wanna put it on the track, get an AUTO ;DA lot of people will argue with me about having an auto on the track, but here's some food for thought. While my opponent is working his clutch, I've got the pedal down with a pepsi in hand (while the truck shifts itself and I don't have to worry about losing boost everytime the clutch goes in)...lmao :PThe only complaint I have about a cummins with a manual (My 06 is a 6 spd) is that the G56 is geared so low that when going into 4th gear I'm doin 35, no joke. > (I now wish I would have got the 5spd auto)I apologize if I kind of stepped on you with my comment. But instead of throwing the money away, why not put it towards a real motor? BTW, if finances allow it, now's the time to get the mighty Cummins. I picked mine up for Dealer cost and 0% financing ;D ;D
  5. Hey dude..here's what I'd look at seriously. If you are talking about trading in the vehicle in a year or so, why dump all of this money into adding power, when you will never get that money back?Spend the money on the vehicle that you really want and then put the power in it. I've learned this the hard way, trust me. But to answer your question, unless you are going to have your A/F Ratio tuned in, I would not continue to add mods that allow better breathing, if you do not anticipate adding fuel. Bottom line HP=Air+Fuel. Take one out of the equasion and you don't have a good engine, its either running to rich or to lean. I'm not trying to be negative, just truthful.Kev
  6. No worries dude..that's why I'm here.BTW, when you hear the people talking about having to use High octane fuel...don't believe the hype.High octane fuel is only needed in high compression motors. Typical car motors are only in the 8.1 to 9.4 compression ratios. No where near high compression..lolThough one thing you do need to keep in mind...is the transmission. I am not sure if you have an auto or a manual. But if you have an auto, you will most likely have to tighten up your valve body pressures to make sure your lockup clutches don't slip. Auto's are definately picky when it comes to power.
  7. Hey dude....if you plan on selling your truck in a year or so, I seriously wouldn't invest the money. But with that being said, if you truely want to do something about the power, I'd look at superchips. They've made my guys some stuff in the past and they have a very good reputation. Not sure what year your truck is, but here is a programmer for a 2k. http://www.superchips.com/product.phtml?p=...mmk=819&msg=%2B
  8. Yep, what everyone stated is correct..you will not gain that kind of HP from chipping a gas motor. Especially not a Hemi. Its tuned pretty well from the factory. His only real bet to up the HP is not only a true air induction system, but he will need to change the timing on his fuel pump and possibly the fueling curve. I've got a guy over at another forum in which has a hemi and with extensive upgrades including a supercharger, he made 504hp and 567ft lbs. http://dodgetruckworld.tenmagazines.com/fo...04-s-new_dyno_s
  9. ok guys, here's the crew in action. This is what happens when you put edge products behind the engineering of raw diesel power The Wolverine NHRA Diesel Dragster Here is the burnout King Piers Harry...the Turbo God and my teacher (might need the divx codec) All put together, here's what happens when everyone teams together and we put the power to the ground Buckle up and Hold On Lastly...here's what happens when you try to inject a 300 shot of Nitrous and don't have enough fuel to burn it. Damn...talk about a bad day
  10. Damn bro..thanks for the intro.Just to give everyone some scoop about me, Steve and I grew up together in the same neighborhood..We've known each other for a long time. Anyhow just like several of you on here, I'm just an ordinary HP junkie who likes pushing the limits. Several years ago, I started racing Dodge 3/4 ton trucks and ever since have been pushing the limits of these motors seeing how much hp we can get out of them. Before I was forced to quit racing about a year ago, I hooked up with a great team of guys in which make lots of different mods for diesel trucks and so the story continues....pushing the limits of these motors every single day.Even though Gas and Diesel motors are completely different, the concepts of increasing hp are pretty much the same. So if there is anything I can do to help throw some knowledge on this forum..I'm hereSteve, I gotta put my web server back online and then I'll throw up some pics and vids.
  11. Thanks for the intro bro.. Your call bro...I'll chime in anywhere I can help. But for the record, I am not responsible for blown motors... ;D Here's a quick bit for you to laugh about. Notice the sig? Had to upgrade...2 weeks ago my 04 had a nasty burial with a final dyno run clocking 1183 Hp (with an insane amount of drugs). Time to start over from scratch..LMFAO BTW, here's some good reading material on the difference between chargers and turbos
  12. You know it big bro. Stumbled by your site by accident (never knew it was up). So when I started going through your forums, couldn't resist in and had to help a fella HP junkie out ;D You know me...There's never enough HP. Kev..
  13. Depends on what the end result is that you are looking for. The downside with Schargers is that they use HP to make HP, the downside to turbo's is as others have stated is the lag. If you size the turbos right and go after a certain powerband then I'd reccomend that way in a heartbeat. Typically if you are after serious Hp what we do on the track is stack turbos of different sizes to spool one another, that way the lag is gone. But you do have to monitor for Exhaust Gas Temp and rpms of the turbo to make sure you don't over work the small one. Kev..
