30-30's are nice brush hunting rifles, but I'd seriously step up to a 30.06. Your friend is right, because the 30-30 is a brush gun, it doesn't have a lot of range. The 30.06 will give you the needed punch, the range and plus you have a huge variety of bullets and weights to choose from when hunting. I've personally hunted deer with a 30-30 once and right after I took the shot, I realized the 30-30 just didn't have the punch or range that I was hoping for. So I sold it and stick with the 30.06. Pending on what I am hunting, with a 30.06 you can go anywhere from about a 150 gr up to a 180 gr....you couldn't ask for anything better

Save the hassle and just go buy you a good bolt action 30.06. That 30 cal round probably has the biggest variety of bullets available on the market. You don't want to get too small of a round and make the pig suffer, but you also don't want to get a round so big that you'll blow the backside of the pig out. Typically the reason for hunting is to go after the meat. So why try and destroy what you are going after??

Map Sensor Question
str86diesel replied to reinke's topic in Engine and Performance - Anything for that couple extra horses!
Is that oil on the bottom of the plug in the 2nd pic? If I had to guess, either you've got a fueling problem..or someone tried adding engine mods and hasn't adjusted the A/F Ratio -

White stuff on your plugs means your running lean. Black stuff means your running rich. -

No a bad map sensor won't make your car smoke. Typically smoke is called by something like burning oil -
Nice SLR...i've got myself a couple of them. What sucks about the slr's is that they weren't made for rapid fire. If you've ever looked down the barrel of one, you'll know what I mean. Instead of having a normal barrel with the riflings engraved in them. The SLR's actually have oversized barrels with protruding riflings...which is what makes them one of the most accurate AK's made

Congrats on the bike bro....you make the right choice. The wife and I just traded in her GXSR and I am so glad. My wife can totally confirm for you how much I hated that bike. The throttle control was horrible, the slipper clutch was totally designed wrong and continually lost adjustment, which in return affects the clutch engagement/adjustment, The brakes have got to be the worst that I have ever seen on a bike. It was the biggest pile of crap i've ever owned. I've ridden many 636's and they are bad azz bikes. From someone who's put on well over 50,000 miles on 2 wheels...trust me when I say "you made the right decision!!" Be safe...Gear up...and Learn the bike. If you've got any questions, feel free to ask away.

K&N air filters are garbage. Hold one up to the light and look at all of the light that comes through its openings. Now think about all of the crap that it will let into your motor. BackYardSoundZ has the right idea. Don't waste hundreds on an intake. Go buy $5 - $10 worth of pvc pipe, put a filter on the end of it and call it good. kev

Dude..stay away from Left handed guns and learn to shoot right handed. I too am left handed and with through the hole left hand vs right hand firearms bit. Wait till you break a part, like an extractor and have to pay triple what everyone else is, due to it being made backwards to eject on the left hand side. Sometimes it sucks being left handed.

Thanks bro.. How you lik'n that 996? I test drove one just for giggles, as i'm looking for an older reliable bike that I can use as strictly a track bike. I definately am wanting a 999r, but that 996 definately has my attention. Throw up some pics. You're right on the tri-color. They just looks sick. Too bad they only come in 07 and are still way over priced.

No offense bro...but this car seems to have a ton of issues. You really need to get it into a mechanic and have it checked out. If you have excessive oil buildup around the block, it sounds like its you have some compression and seal issues. The reasaon why the motor runs good for the first couple of minutes is cause all of the metal is cold. When it warms up, things start swelling and causing leaks. It seriously sounds like the motor is ready for a rebuild.

Ohh yeah dude...its insane. At 150 miles, I took her to the track and beat my best lap time by 12seconds (only cause I don't have to use the brakes as often due to how the twins power is so much more managable). Then she's got some new Pirelli shoes and she's been in the canyons about 1/2 dozen times since. She's mean in the twisties

Dude the 6's are bad... I want one for the track, so that I don't have to keep strip'n my street bike down. You have an awesome bike bro...keep it and learn it. The only reason why I got rid of the R1 was just cause I got tired of having so much power that I couldn't use it on the streets. The weekend before I gave it up, me and some of my boys hit up the canyons and I was litterally leaving the pack behind while in 1st gear. It sucks to have so much power in 1st that I can't shift till well over 100mph. Yeah the duc has a tad bit bigger motor and comparable HP, However in a straight, there is no way in hell it could keep up with my R1. The duc is definately more of a cruising style bike with a VERY aggressive seat position. It really only shines when in the corners.
