  1. can't go wrong with any of the above, phoniex gold rsd series are a good speaker for the price and look into the rockford fosgate as well also a good choice.
  2. running rca's next to speaker wires shouldn't be a problem.just make sure your not runing power wire next to your rca's or your speaker wire that will cause noise issues.
  3. how long are you playing it at that volume? even thoe your sub is seeing power that is within it's r.m.s range,if you beat on it for a long period of time your coils are going to get hot and they will get smelly.
  4. could be a internal problem with sub output on head unit, how do you have the output run to your amps? is it a RCA directly off the head unit or did use high low converters to make a low output for your amps? also do you have anything running between the head unit and amplifiers such as a processor or e.q. if so your problem could be there.
  5. i just redid my system subs up ports up and it sounds good, i have a 2005 sonata two lvl 4 15's . i was a little unsure myself but was the only way they were going in overall i'm happy with the way it turned out .
  6. just did a install on 2005 murano with a trx 2000 d on two dc lvl three 15's and so far i have been impressed with it , have it wired to one ohm and it doesn't even get warm.i would say it's a good amp my buddy picked his up at dealer cost car audio for 329.00 they were having a spring sale.
  7. ya i used four four inch presicion ports, it's in a daily driver on a soundstream trs 2000 and it sounds good.
  8. and it's four four incher's . and i'm not trying to sound impatient but I'm fighting wether and working out side .
  9. i checked the port calc on psp,but wanted to make sure that what i got was accurate . not sure if the calc takes port displacement into consideration or not .
  10. cutting some four inch flare ports , box is 7.83 cubes after speaker and bracing displacement. speakers are dc lvl3 15's just wanted some one to go over my port length , the number i got of the psp web site is 13.96 cut flare length just wanted to double check . alos this is befor port displacement.
  11. your box is going to be 3.5 cubes per sub so your going to be rite at 7 cubes net.
  12. try caraudiofactory.com, i bought a advance t line for two fosgate p312's and banged pretty good . they have a good price point on there boxes as well.
  13. yeah man this box has been a pain in the ass from the get go,but your right i think in the end it will be all worth it. i just wish mine was as easy to put together as yours was. will see you when you get back.
  14. o.k. ready to cut port tubes just want to confirm my measurement , box volume is 7.49 after bracing using four four inch flares (only flaring port exit) looking for 33 Hz this is a daily using two dc lvl 4 15's subs seeing 1000 watts RMS each.the length i got of the psp port calc is 13.68 straight cut or 14.68 flare not sure if this is correct could some one double check this please .thanks in advance.
  15. so should i go with the thin wall elbows or stick with the regular ninety? and where can i find the other type would lows or home depot have them . i know that parts express has them thats where i got my aero port kits from but there like twelve bucks a piece plus shipping and i was hoping to get the ports in this weekend so i was hopping to find them local.
  16. thanks for your help on the measuring , now i ran into another problem. i originally bought six four inch psp aero ports that i was going to use but once i got into this build i found out i could only use four. today i get ready to set the ports and found out that with the standard PVC nineties i only have about one inch to a 1 1/2 from the bottom of my tub so now I'm worried about port noise . not sure if i should lift the ports out of the box a little or just run with them the way they sit. this damn box is fighting me all the way .
  17. when you say dead center do you mean dead center out side back wall or dead center inside of elbow ?
  18. how do you measure the over all length of a ninety (elbow) using port tubes and need to bend them out but not sure how to calculate the over all length. using four inch tubes ,do you measure the diagonal from corner to corner ? not sure .
  19. thanks again guys , i pulled the tub and it seems fine (actually looks good lol.) just going to start laying on some mat and make it nice and strong and than back in the trunk we go . i just want to say thanks to every one who gave advice it is very appreciated .
