  1. So what do you think guys power run off the alt or leave as is?
  2. I think i have my problem solved, my XS 5100 was needing a charge took it back to the shop i bought it from and they charged it up for me. I also just picked up two Deka agm 31's all is looking good now, the only thing i need to do now is build a new amp rack, had to take the old one out to put the batteries in. I think i'm going to change the belt on my alt as well, think i might be getting a little slipage , but voltage is back up whare it was 13.09/14.02.
  3. It suck, thats why i figured i would ask and see what other peoples thoughts were. I'm going to add a second battery in the back but just wanted to see if maby there something else i could do that would help my situation.
  4. O.k. along with some other electrical issues that i think i have figured out i have two questions that i'm hoping someone with a little more experience can help out with. I have an 07 Impala, i bought a 300 amp Iraggi amputator and have the big three and all my power and ground runs have been done with 0/1, also have an Optima yellow top under the hood and a XS 5100 in the trunk, when i replaced my stock alt i did see a improvement in my voltage but nothing like i have read other people achieving. Now my first question is about grounding my alt, when i replaced the stock alt i didn't have a factory ground on it so i assumed that the alt was ground internally should i add a ground and would that help see a little more voltage? I know the computer in my car is a big issue because i have had a couple people tell me that my cars computer will not allow the system to charge until it sees 12.9 volts, i have looked into getting a VCM or a MLA but they don't have anything for a 2 wire alt plug. My second question is location of power hook up to the rear battery, I have the power hooked up from my front battery to my rear like i have always done positive to positive but was wondering if it would be better to hook up the power for the rear battery directly off the alt instead of the front battery positive would this be better for giving the rear battery a better charge or should i just leave as is? System consists of a Crescendo 3KWP and a 1000 C4, all advice is appreciated thanks.
  5. Thats what i said, but the shop owner is doing his thing just double checking, I showed him what the voltage was on it before i even put back in my car 12.01 and than asked him to stand there while i turned my system on not up but on voltage dropped to 11.05 just with radio on so i new at the point that no charger was going to help it.
  6. Well by the looks of things my 5100 has a problem, had it on the charger for 5 hours and it's not taking the charge, it's sitting rite at 12.01 so the shop put it back on the charger and is going to let it sit over night and if in fact it's a dead issue there going to give me another one. Thank goodness for warranties.
  7. Both batteries and amps are fused now just was wondering if this would be beneficial or a waste of time?
  8. O.k., Optima yellow top is resting at 12.79 alt checks out and seems to be working fine XS 5100 was resting at 12.24 took it back to the shop i bought it at and put it to charge. Hopefully this will fix my issue my XS 3400 came in yesterday will be picking that up next Friday going to put the 3400 under the hood it's about the same size as the Optima so i'm going to go ahead and get rid of it, I do have a question tho, could i run the power run for my rear batteries off the alt instead the front battery or is this not a good idea? Was wondering if this would help in keeping the rear batteries charged better or should i leave things as is and just check my voltage on the rear batts and give a charge every now and again when need be?
  9. Yeah thats what i'm thinking but hoping it's not, if so i'm going to have try dc or mechman and see what they would charge to fix it if they can fix it. Hoping it's a battery issue at this point don't want to think to negative if it is a battery there under warranty, hell everything is under warranty it's all less than a year old.
  10. I know i have a problem now for sure, coming home from work last night started my car voltage was at 14.6 turned on my a.c. and lights on everything was good turned my system on slight voltage drop normal 14.2/13.9 after about five min. voltage dropped to 12.4 i have never had this problem since i changed out my stock alt. i'm off today so i'm going over the electrical with a fine tooth comb gotta get this shit figured out. Has anyone been able to contact Iraggi since the flood? i left a message on his forum about a over drive pulley but never got a response.
  11. i don't think that there are any shorts, all my 0 gauge runs were done at same time, they each have there own grummets . I just now decided to use the second run of 0/1 for a second ground i was going to use it for a second + run because i grounded the rear batt in the trunk. Just thought that i would see a better voltage if i added the second ground and the second 5100 and no i didn't see any sparks while adding the second ground.
  12. Anyone know what the resting voltage on a XS 5100 and optima group 34 yellow top should be? I have a yellow top up front as a starter batt. and a 5100 in the trunk on my amp i also have an irragi 300 amp alt. i just added a ground run front to back an instead of getting better voltage it seams as though i have dropped from a constant 13.9/14.2 to 13/13.4. The voltage does fluctuate and does get back up to the 13.9/14.2 but it's not as consistent as it was before adding the extra ground. I checked all my fuses and connections and i am getting ready to add another 5100 but i'm just wondering what could be causing this to happen? i'm wondering if this heat down here in south florida is a factor or if my alt is starting to fuck up or what? I know that these optima batteries don't really give much warning when there going bad they kind of just die but both of these batteries are less than a year old not that that means anything well kida just wondering what the hell is going on i'm going to start with the batts figure resting voltage should be mid to high 12's and go from there.
  13. I have 300 amp amputator without the overdrive pulley myself, car is 07 Impala my voltage is 14.2 to14.6 at start up but after it heats up i stay rite around 13.9 to14.1, i was told by a few different people that it was normal for me due to the fact that my cars ECU doesn't allow charging until i drop to 12.9. I was expecting more myself with the alt and two batteries, i even tried looking into a mla or vcm but no one makes them for my car but i have no issues with it, seems to be holding up just fine.
  14. Not really sure, I do know that 3KWp stays cool doesn't get hot and my voltage sits rite around 13.9/14.2 so up to this point i haven't had any issues at all with my electrical. looking to get a third batt in the back soon tho as a matter of fact i have another 5100 on order when this one comes in i will be hitting up tool maker to order some custom terminals for the Crescendo.
  15. i see u use knu 1/0 on the cresendo 3k. that amp calls for a 300 amp fuse when your power wire only supports 250 amps. you think u losing a lot of power? 2 Runs brother. i thought it only had 1 1/0 gauge input? It does but i have two runs from front to back and 8" run from rear batt to amp No issues at all.

  17. Throw it in a ported box and that sub will come alive, i had two p312's in a ported box and i installed two of the same subs in my buddies car same power only differences his was sealed , built the boxes to Rockford's specs his sounded good but had the same issue was lacking on the low end.
  18. I need a price on two LVL3 10's d.4's shipped to 33021 please.
  19. Agreed, Dr Subwoofer knows about the deep penetrating bass. You do already have 15s so they excurt more than any other subs. But on a serious note. Get everything sealed off and the XLs wont be worth the money you spend over your Level 4 w/5 coils without upgrading your power as well. If you want prices on XLs and DC amps just shoot me a PM and ill be glad to help. thanks again.

  21. Thanks for the response guys, got the day off and already started to try and seal everything off, hopefully this will make a difference.
  22. I have two LVL4 15's with LVL5 soft parts the subs are D.7's in a forward firing box ported thru my rear deck subs are on a crescendo 3kwp box is tuned to 32 htz, i'm thinking of upgrading to XL's but i just reconed these subs about 8 months ago and really like the way they sound. When i put the box in i sealed it off the cabin from the trunk but still have some leeks, my question is if i go ahead and put a beauty panel in and completely seal of the subs from the trunk would i get much of a gain? Also my back seat is still in and up which is why i never bothered with a beauty panel in the first place no one is going to see it anyway, this is my daily driver and i'm not going for numbers just want the most out of what i have and before i upgrade was wondering if i should try this? I read some threads in the past that were discussing this same thing and just wanted some other input before i rip my box out and start over. Before i did the recone i had these in the trunk of my previous car ports and subs up and although not as loud or as clean or on as much power they seem to get lower, so with the upgrade and the subs and ports being in the car i just expected a little more, all thoughts and suggestions appreciated.
