I forgot to add that these subs are the dual 1 ohm coils.

I have 2 DC level 4 12's for sale. As far as cosmetics these subs are in good shape except for a scuff on one of the surround where I was pulling out a screw and it hit the surround, but didn't go through at all. These subs ARE WORKING. I have had to solder the negative tinsel leads back on, on each of the woofers but only on one coil of each. The subs work fine and can be played with no problems. I am using them in my car right now. I did a 144.2 on the new tl out of the trunk of my escort the other day at a local shop. I can provide pictures as soon as tomorrow because it's too late for me to go out and take the subs out of the box tonight to take them. There is alot of use left in them as I have only had them for 3 weeks, and the only thing wrong with them is the tinsel leads. I am asking for $350obo for the pair plus shipping for them. I paid a heck of alot more than what I'm asking for these. And anyone who knows about these subs know they are great and they pound. I have paypal and would prefer to do business there. It isn't crucial that I sell these woofers, but I just figured that someone may want some awesome subs for cheap. You could even just go ahead and get the subs reconed and they would be like brand new. I am doing a larger set of woofers in my new hatchback and would like to see these go to a good home.

Just a little flex from the windshield, but those geo's are built like a tank so I'm sure it can handle it. Where about is that beast tuned to?

How much do you want for just the memory stick with the songs on it? I have the exact same HU and the damn thing skips like crazy with all the bass in the car. I know shipping won't be much at all, but here's my zip 44903. Also do you use Paypal? Because that's the only way I prefer to do internet buying and selling.

Check and see if you might have either burnt or snapped a tinsel lead. This has happened to me before and was the reason for my dual 1's that were in series and then parallel not reading a 1 ohm load. They were reading a 2 ohm load and I took the sub out of the box and found that the tinsel lead was broken and repaired it to fix the problem.

I agree that more power is necessary. Also how do you like the Alpine subs? I had a couple of type R's and I loved them.

that is the obvious choice, but I want something a little newer and with less miles than you'll find on a used crx. Most of them I've seen lately are going for outrageous prices too.

I'm in the market for a new car and need to get something that is going to be loud for daily driving and to bassrace with. I'd like to get a used car for around $5000 and it has to be a hatch or something of similar style. I would prefer a car with decent mpg, like around 24+ per gallon. What suggestions do you all have for me? Right now I'm looking at a Mercury Cougar and also a Ford Focus ZX3. Any help would be cool cause I want to get the car as soon as I can, but I wanted to know if there are any cars I might have overlooked. I know there are other hatches that I didn't mention, but I want opinios from other people. Thanks.

Good choice A&W I guarentee that you will be happy. I love mine and it is mounted in the trunk. When I play the car at full tilt the voltage doesn't drop below 13.5, and I also have 2 runs of 0 and 2 runs of 4 going to the back. The big 3 is done up front also except for from the alt I have 2 runs of 4 instead of a run of 0. Just giving you the info that my D3100 likes to stay charged up.

Okay just a little update. I installed the new cd player in the car. It's a Pioneer deh-p6000ub, and I'm not sure if it made any difference. The highs sound alot better thanks to the 7 band graphic eq, but I'm not sure that the lows are still as loud as they were with the deh-p6500. Maybe I'm just being paranoid, but I would think that the subs would potentially get louder with an extra 2 volts of preamp output. I didn't touch any of the settings on the amp, so I don't know what to think. A buddy of mine has the old deck right now, but it's not installed in his car yet. I wish I had a TL so I could know for sure which deck is really louder. The new deck also skips too, but I'm gonna fix that with a changer because I don't want to go through all of the trouble of putting my music on an ipod. Also a changer is a little bit more affordable than an ipod and I've got to save some $ for shows coming up. I could put up another video if anyone wants to see more of the Scort in action. I know you guys won't be able to tell if it's any louder by a video and I can't even tell if it's louder or quieter by ear, but with the old deck it used to make my back itch when I played the car but it doesn't when I play with the new one. I know that may sound weird, but I take all of the little things into consideration. Other than the preamp outputs and the eq each of these decks are pretty much the same thing. Anyone got any ideas?

You've never seen one of these AC mics before? That was the standard in db drag and all other spl comps back in the day. When I started competing back in '99 that's all that was around at the shows. Every once and a while you would see a B&K meter or even a Linear X meter, but for the most part it was the "douche nozzle" Audio Controls. I'm not disagreeing with you at all, but just asking if you hadn't seen one until this thread.

X2, went to their program about 5 years ago. I didn't learn anything that I couldn't have learned in an install bay for a month or so, but the whole acoustic theory and watts law and ohms law phases were really interesting. I have found some of their teachings not to be real world aplicable, but everything always works in theory right?

I agree Powermaster FTMFW! I love my D3100 battery. I don't have an upgraded alternator and my lights don't even dim at full tilt at night. The powermaster batteries contain some serious deebeez in them =)

That's a thought too. I don't know which I would prefer, but is it a pain in the ass to put music on an ipod from cd? It might be easier for me to do a changer, but an ipod install with the deck I'm getting would be alot easier.

I guess I can list all of the changes I made from the 10" setup to the 12" setup. 1.Upgraded to 12" subs 2.Built new box for 12's with 4cuft and a bunch of port area tuned to 37 hz 3.Instead of box sealed off from the trunk firing foward with the 10's it's not sealed off in the trunk firing to the rear for the 12's 4.Also added a Powermaster D3100 that I didn't have when I got the 10's metered 5.Added 150 sqft of sound deadending that wasn't there before 6.(Will have a new deck with 4 volt preamp outputs instead of 2 so hopefully I can turn the amp up some without distorting the subs to get more power to them) I would say that all of these upgrades would definately net more than a single db. I've even heard of some people turning their boxes around from front firing to rear firing and gaining 3-4db from that alone. Not to mention the construction of a new box with resin on the inside and 45 degree corners out of resin and plenty of 2X4's bracing it. These are all things that I lacked in the last install that I changed for the better this time. I just said that overall it could possibly gain me 5 db, but it probably won't but I'm excited and I'm sorry if showing is bothering someone.
