  1. I put up 2 pics for ya. Best thing is to put a rubber grommet around the hole. You can pick them up at any hardware store, just pick one up that the 1/0 or whatever your wire size will fit through, look at the hole size for it and drill a hole that big and you should be set.
  2. Judging by your name id assume you have an explorer? Run the battery ground through the floor and bolt it to the frame. That will help a lot. You can see the hole in the floorboard right above the cleaned spot where my battery ground is bolted too.
  3. Easy.. Stop at the red light with it turned up. Turn around walk inside and see what they're picking up off the floor, turn around and walk out laughing.. Then after that don't go that road for a few weeks much less bump around there lol
  4. If you know what you're doing and in the right enclosure XL can handle upwards of 3k. (from rusty himself via phone a while back) A DAT 2500.1 or a Sundown 3k would be perfect. Id run it around 2500 as long as the enclosure is fit. i.e small enough so the sub doesnt unload all the way. Should get mighty loud . Oh yah pics and vids when its all done
  5. Just wanted to input my .02. I traded in my SAZ1500 for my SAZ3000 and with Jacobs excellent service/shipping it was a million times easier and cost effective rather than selling my 1500 to someone then buying the 3000 from him. Adding non-sundown amps to the deal would help a lot of people with the headache of selling/buying/upgrading equipment. Kentb- My 1500 was a refurb i believe? Bought straight from Jacob but i know it was used not positive if it was a refurb
  6. Depends like say with 2 sundown 1500's strapped to 2 ohm is basically equivalent or if i remember correctly more power hungry than a single 3000 ran at 1 ohm. But if the smaller amps are half the size of the one big amp you speak of then yes that will be MUCH easier on the electrical than a big one at .5ohm
  7. I'd just use one terminal cup I think it'd be easier. Inside the box wire each sub in series to 4 ohm then wire the two subs together in parallel to a 2 ohm where they connect to a single terminal cup. then from the cup to the amps.
  8. Hell yeah my spring break is the week right before that so I should definitely be able to make it down!
  9. I agree snitches get stitches but your friend should have not been such a dumbass.. if you recently saw a cop go by keep it down til youre in the clear much less if you can STILL SEE the cop.... Some people man. Like wangin at stop lights with cars all around you just waiting for the green light.. just fuckin ignorance..
  10. LOL C'mon man face the music. Car audio is more addicting than crack... Its a disease that every last motherfucker on this forum has!! EVERY ONE OF US! If we left everything stock we wouldn't have shit like caddys with 8 18s and a couple of $20k amps in them! HAHA Screw leavin it stock, just go with it you know you want to, make her your own!
  11. Good point i hadnt thought about that. Assumed someone had cut it then taped it back together? lol
  12. Great idea.. Just FYI the price on ebay is the same price on knukonceptz.com. You CANT go wrong with knukonceptz ultra fleks wire for the price. Ultra flexible, more wire less jacket. And its a very soft jacket not a hard plastic type jacket you find on some.
  13. Umm yikes.. just to be on the safe side definately replace it or you could use one of those butt connector type things with the set screw in them. I saw someone on here use them and im trying to find that thread again
  14. You mean the wire is cut all the way through and held together with tape? Or there is a small slice in the wire?
  15. Glad to help, let me know if you have any questions during install On the internet and in your hands are two different things, also good luck messing with that alt, apparently theyre in a bitch spot on eclipses.
  16. If youre alt puts out 80 amps then you dont NEED to put a fuse because 4 gauge i believe can handle something like 150 amps especially in a short distance? Im putting that from memory so someone please correct me if im wrong. If you want to fuse it then something like 100 amp fuse will be fine. And if you do fuse this wire the fuse goes near the battery. The only time you would need a fuse in your situation (80 amp alt, 4 ga wire) is if this wire shorted between the alt and battery.
  17. When you install the fuse on your big 3 upgrade the fuse is protecting the wire not the alt. So you use a fuse (close to the battery not the alt) depending on your wire size. If youre doing your big 3 in 1/0 which is best considering you plan to get a high output later and you will have to upgrade it, use a 300 amp fuse. "1/0 wire is rated at 300 amps up to a length of 10 ft." - Mechman
  18. *Typed minutes after hanging up with Dom Iraggi* Umm not to bust your guys balls or anything but as i understand the fuse rating on the big 3 is to protect the WIRE. Using a fuse based on your alt is pointless considering your alt puts out current doesnt receive it. So therefore assuming youre using 1/0 a 300 amp fuse is optimal.
  19. Are you running your RCAs from your head unit to the bass amp. out of the bass amp output into your highs amp?
  20. So far a sandblasting cabinet for my dad (he repaints and rebuilds toy tractors). Dvds for others, all ive got so far.
  21. Bought it saturday for PC i like it. They only have 4 maps right now but it usually takes about an hour for a good group to complete a whole map on normal difficulty. Im sure valve will develop more maps for it soon though. Apple do you use steam or just run through the game?
  22. Really sorry to hear about that man. Stay strong and just know hes in a better place and always gonna be lookin out for ya. Keep your head up bro. RIP
  23. What theyre saying is in an 8 cube box 3500rms is a little too much power, the box size helps control the subwoofer. In a big box the sub can move a lot more freely so with that much power it will eventually destruct it due to mechanical failure (voice coil slapping the back plate). If youre going to stick with 3500 rms then you need about 6 cubes like they said. if you wanna keep it at 8 cubes then go with less power to keep the sub safe.
