  1. is that a 15? and lvl 5 coils? XL model? or is that a lvl 5?
  2. Ok, jus got off the phone with T&K Soundwerkz, he said labor would be 6 hours, and i'm looking at $200-$300 dollars. fuck that lol. He said it would take 2 hours to install the alternator. They would have to do all this other stuff as well with the 0 gauge upgrade and he told me parts as well, $130 aint bad, I think i'm going to go to a mechanic and have them install the alt. I really hate having to rely on shops when I get my alt installed by the mechanic will they know how to sodder the 0 gauge to the alt and than I can have them drill holes and I can run the wire and finish connecting everything myself? how much ft of 0 gauge wire do I need to run from the alt to the Kinetic in the trunk? That's also gonna be a factor to consider because it would be stupid to have them sodder the 0 gauge to the alt but not have enough length to connect the terminals to the Kinetic.
  3. Yah that's what it is a battery Isolator. See, I hate shops cuz I come on here for advice, and than I go there and they tell me everything is wrong, and I need this, and that, and my alt isnt 250A, and i wont see 3kwrms out of my amp unless i spend $900 on equipment, and i been in this game since I was in high school and I've learned a lot and I don't have hands on experience, but I done lots of research. a battery isolator is he told me $70 bucks not including the install. From what I know is, my battery in the trunk turns on my car, Running 0 gauge positive to positive negative to negative to the Kinetic, leaving the stock alone, should not cause any cancel, or shortage or anything like that, why he's telling me I need two of the same batteries I don't know oh he told me to get a yellowtop over Kinetic lol.
  4. Yah, im not looking to get the 4kwrms out of the amp i'm happy with 3k thats why I got the amp in the 1st place. He told me I can't run stock battery with the Big 111 and the Kinetic, unless i get a tool I forget what it's called the main reason for a shop doing it is warranty, I only had my car for a year, and I got 4 more years to pay it off before I can do w.e I wan't to it.

Yah, i just don't know any1 who is on this site, that has paid a shop to do the Big 111, everyone has done everything themselves and if I had a teacher I would be able to learn to but he never picks up his freaking phone anymore. Rob, said that you need to sodder the 0 gauge wire to the alternator when all said and done with electrical I should be at 14V. The Crunch GP 3000 my amp is 12v it's 3kwrms at 14v it pushes out 4kwrms that came right out of "mike stiers" mouth himself from Maxx Sonics. I'm going to get the alternator and i'm just going to store everything until I can figure out if i'm going to have the shop do it, or if I can find sum1 close to me come out and help. We hosted an illinois meet back in 2007 so if anyone who lives by me and is willing to make the trip out let's say March, I'd be happy to learn how to do it, and I will pay you if your willing to help n show me.
  6. Yah, I have a friend but he never picks up his phone, and he's an hour + from me i'm not going to show up unexpectedly. The alternator bolts on, so it's an easy installation. Cobalt LT though the alternator is a bitch to get to, and yah, they'll have to remove some stuff to get to it. all I have left is to get the alt, a stinger voltage meter, and I don't know how many ft I need of 0 gauge wire that's probally like over 50 dollars as well. I'm really excited though because I'll finally know what it's like to be running 3kwrms+. Considering I provide all the parts I'm guessing it should be under $200 dollars. The shop told me it would take all day, because one of the kids that works there has a Cobalt LS I think, he said it took him 8 hours to do his alt.
  7. Well, I got two dc lvl 4's lvl 5 dual 1's and a Kinetic 2400, I'm getting a 250A DC Alternator and I'll need a stinger voltage meter. How much would the average audio shop charge including labor? It's a 2007 Chevy Cobalt LT, would it be smarter to have a car place install the alt, than take it to the audio shop and have them do the Big 111, or have the audio shop install the alt, and do the Big 111 at the same time? I'm just trying to figure out what would the total cost be, because this system is costing me like probally 2 grand with all the the costs. I know most of you would say "do it yourself" but I don't have anyone around here who can help me, and the weather is really bad this time of month. Any feedback would be awesomely appreciated.

I disconnected the RCAS and put them back in and when plugging them in and unplugging them I can hear a sound kind of like when u got the speakers all the way volume and ur unplugging them and plugging them that kind of sound. are the Rca's opposed to light up? they got lil led lights one is red, and the other is black are they opposed to light up? If they are than yah it's the rca's. Im 100% sure it's not the amp and 100% it's not the subs gotta be someting with the wireing me and my buddie will trouble shoot it on monday when we start building the new box.
  16. Ah, yes ok I will be doing all this on monday the subs our wired at 1 ohm, and that's good that the amp isnt fried, me and TEAMBASSINURFACE will trouble shoot the issue come monday Thanks guys
  17. ok, the amp is a Crunch GP 3000, the remote wire is shit they used electrical tape to tape it cuz it's blue wire and the wire is thin as hell and all fucked up. When I got my subs back we had a problem getting the system to work until we noticed the remote wire, well, now the amp turns on but gets no signal to the subs but the 6x'9s/components work fine. I checked the fuse 200A and it's not blown, made sure all the wires our connected to the amp, the subs aren't blown because I just got them back and am not over powering them. What other things should I look for? the remote wire is so thin and stripped I stripped the wire and tried to make it thicker and still nothing. On monday i'm start building a box for the lvl 4's tuned to 38 hz and gonna swap out the subs and hook up a back up sub to see if it's the amp or if it's the remote wire. How much would it cost to get a new wire kit? what would u reccommend? I'm really getting upset because I just got my subs back and it hasn't even been a month and all ready problems. Any suggestions would be appreciative. Also would like to add, when I turned the car on it took the amp a good couple of seconds to turn on before the bass actually went on meaning I would have to turn the volume to a certain level for the amp get juice but now it just turns on and the bass doesn't come. All the settings on the amp our set to LOW. Also checked and the PWR light is green the amp is not in Protect mode.

  20. what rules, truth is I think the videos I took sucked, and I apologize, but the weather down here sucks and it was raining. System still needs upgraded Alternator, and Back Up battery, and than it's done once I get the Big 3.

  23. they won't do it unless I upgrade the alternator is wha i'm saying. I got videos, they suck though was freezing my ass off and couldn't really come up with anything cool to do. Edit: Uploading them to youtube right now, the camera doesnt pick up Bass, and the flex/vibrations couldn't really be seen either, keep in mind the amp isn't even seeing half power though or the subs.
