  1. Nice for a single woofer system. You're cam sounds good at picking up the bass line too. what kinda car is that? is your system in the trunk?
  2. Maybe using similar design as found on break line of BMX bikes. You know how you can spin the handle bar as much as you want and nothing gets tangled. Juz maybe?
  3. Well after getting done washing my car, I took a short vid of the system I juz put back 2gether after puting dynamat. car really sounds quiet outside now but bangin inside and less rattling. My cam sucks though, its one of those entry-level sony. Mic doesn't pickup the bass and it makes it sound like my subs are distorting, but they ain't, and it also makes my mids/highs sound thin. Playing "welcom back" from the new jeezy album.
  4. after seeing the current set up from the pic...I would suggest trying to mess with diff boxes and amp/eq set-up. That sub is one of the best sounding out there with the right set-up. I've heard them before in person and thought they were amazing. I currently have two D6 12's and they are bangin and sound great with any type of music. Sound very clean, tight, and loud. They are very quick and at the same time well controled. I would assume D9's are better than D6's.
  5. That's a pretty cool way to tap into the fusebox. Does autozone or any other local car parts supplier carry this? cuz i really don't have time to order this online. i need to pick this up tom.
  6. Cool....that's what i wanna clear-out. Now i imma take a look at his manual to figureout the fusebox layout. THAnks guys.
  7. Oh ok. But I kinda want to have the amps turn off automatically when he shuts off the car. Cuz he'll probably forget to turn-off the amp and that would drain the batt.
  8. As far as for signal...i'm juz using an LOC to tap in the rear speaker wires. I juz not sure about the remote turn on wire.
  9. I'm about to hookup my old system (juz a mono amp and a single orion 12) to my brother's new car, a 2008 Accord. He has stock HU, which i dont want to mess with. My question are: -where is the best place for me to hook up the remote wire while minimizing any modification to the vehicle's electrical? -Can I juz hook it up somewhere in the fuse box? If yes...where? and how, juz trap the wire with one of the fuses? I've installed amps before but only to a car with an aftermarket HU and a remote wire output. Although my current car, my remote wire is hooked up to the ignition, my friend hooked this up for me. Plust I really do not want to mess with my brother's ignition harness anyway. Thank you guys in advance.
  10. I bet the customer was happy. Very clean install...nice choices of equipment. I wanna do something similar to my car in the future. Not juz go for the sound but also the looks. Good Job! Mabuhay!
  11. I"M sorry! I posted this at the wrong forum. My bad.
  12. is bolting down your box necessary if its in a trunk of a car or only in SUV's, vans, and hatch?
  13. MDF is too damn heavy man. What are some alternate materials that would be good for building a box? I heard about birch, is this lighter?
  14. first rule of thumb when working with electricity, "Avoid working with anything live if possible" and second, "work from cold to hot." Juz like u said, plug it in first before u make it hot.
  15. Well some of the system I see here are running thousands of watts, high amprege, and juz plain dangerous. And this is a hobby where anybody is welcome to get into. You don't need engeneering degree to buy all these crazy shit, juz money. I know most of the guys that go extreme are experience, trained, and certified, but there's gotta be somebody out there that try to go hard and doing the shortcut on experience. So have u guys heard of people get hurt in this hobby? here is one i've seen on youtube...
  16. Out of all the amps mentioned here, I will have to aggree with Bricks. I have experience with AQ, I currently have juz the AQ1200d @1ohm and shit is pushing my subs with no problem.....daily. I'm blasting it most of the time and shit don't even get hot at 1ohm. The AQ2200d would be a real good choice, not juz for the price but for the performance. The reason its cheaper is cuz they u buy em directly from the manufacturer. So pretty much u get the price what dealers get their stuff from. Plus Audioque got the best customer service out there....u dial their number and somebody answers. No bullshit run around. as far as crunch gp3000.....I don't have experience with those but i've heard good things about them.
  17. You should checkout AudioQue AQ1200d. best bang for ur money I think. I am currently using one to power two diamond audio D6 at 1ohm. Very efficient and powerful. gives out 1.2kw at 1ohm and stays cool. good for daily at one ohm and Im really satisfied with the performance.
  18. Is it safe to cut the rear-end like that if you get rear ended? I'm not sure if that tank was the fuel tank or ur compressor tank.
  19. You're right, I should play the shit out of this thing first b4 i think about recoil. I was juz thingkin bout that due to the fact that it is a SVC 4ohms and my AQ1200d only puts out about 500Wrms@4ohms. I am thinking of building a ported box about 4 cubes and tuned at 28hz-30hz. -You guys think if i build an opitmal box for it and give it that 500Wrms that it would sound good and fairly loud? -how would it compare to my my current dual diamond D6 12" set up which are getting 600Wrms each?
  20. I bought it guys and I actually got it for $60. I had to drive an hour and a half though one way. This thing is gigantic. It is acutally brand new, never used. The seller is one of those guys that goes auctions and he said he bought this along with a set of other speakers. I did and impedance check with DMM and it came back with 3.6ohms and i did an ops check by hookin it up to my audioque in my car and it works. It sounds pretty good at low volume and that's open air. Now I gotta think about what I'm gonna do with it....suggestions are welcome. I emailed soundsplinter and they said that this uses the same motor and basket but it is not theirs. Do you guys think i can re-coil/re-cone this so that I can have a DVC instead of single.? what kit do you guys think would fit this motor and basket? cuz it's going to be hard to power this at 4ohms. Here are the pics: Arriving at its new home. This thing is huge! Bigger than my guitar on top of my old single 12" woofer box (it is bigger than the box it self) Bigger than my computer!
  21. THanks....I'll look into powermasters instead. Unless i get a real good deal with the kinetiks. THanks for the help.
  22. I guess I'll pick it up tom....if i can't use it for car audio, I'll juz make a badazz hometheater sub out of it. $65 plus an hour and 20 min drive one way, I guess thats not too bad. Should I close the deal?
