  1. Looks like I will have to wait til they come in. I will trade my 3000D for one Jacob. Should power those Nightshade 15's pretty nicely.
  2. The acronym B.W.S. stands for BASS WITHDRAWAL SYNDROME and is a well known condition to all Car Audio Junkies. There are several instances when this occurs. Such as when your vehicle gets broken into by thugs and they take your stereo equipment. Another more common scenario is when one of your subs blows and you don't have a single sub box to play your remaining sub with and you possibly have to wait a couple of weeks for them to come back. I currently have B.W.S. One of my 12's blew yesterday the day before a competition which I couldn't go to because of getting ready to move into our new house soon. Had I got to go, I had two of my fellow teammates say I could use Their subs to keep my points lead in my class. Thanks to my teammates and all of their generosity. I hope to be in the lanes at the next show and I hope I never experience B.W.S. again because it really sucks guys.
  3. Derrick I am seriously considering these. I just don't want to shred them though. The Nightshades are stronger, but from what I have seen from the test results, i am very impressed with the Z 15's as well.
  4. Congrats to Team Sundown Audio and Team Nemesis. Way to go guys.
  5. Wow! Derrick! The man himself is impressed with your stickers man. That is awesome! Keep up the good work man. Let me also add that Derrick is very generous. I have some decals from him as well and I am very pleased to do business with him.
  6. I am from Sumter SC. I have a 2007 Kia Sportage powered by a Sundown SAZ3000D on 2 American Bass VFL Extreme 12" Subwoofers. I hope to be getting some Nightshades soon. All of my Dad's family is from Rock Hill SC. We have a show this weekend here in Sumter. Come on out and see us man.
  7. Some of us know, but damn, I can't wait to see it and hear it. It is going to be hellaloud.
  8. I think I know whose vehicle those are going into, but I am not telling.
  9. Gained a tenth at a local competition new number is 147.2 sealed on the dash. I have to have people hold my back door and glass and someone sit on the front of my suv to keep the flex down. I think I can get more out of this box. I haven't tried strapping the amplifiers yet. Definitely want to try strapping and see what I can get.
  10. Congrats Jacob on your new high score today. That sub is just begging for more power. Keep us posted when you put 4 SAZ 3000's on it. I see a possible 3 db gain in your future man. It is extremely loud right now. I can't wait to see what you do with more power.
  11. For burps at comps, I turn my lpf all the way up and my subsonic filters off. For daily I have the lpf's around 100 and subsonic filters between 30 and 35.
  12. Hey fellas. I have went from a 146.0 to a 147.1 all within a day at our Competition Only event in Wilmington NC today and this is sealed, on the dash. This is also with a 3 ohm impedance rise in which my 1500 watt rms amps are only doing about 734 a piece. I hope I remember what all I did so I can hopefully improve on the 13th show. Derrick824 can build some serious enclosures guys. I think we can get even more out of this setup with some more testing and tuning.
  13. Congrats man, now get that honeymoon over and come to the next show on the 13th here in Sumter.
  14. My seats were dropped when I did this. I will try to move the box closer to the front of the car. I will have to swap my power and ground wire to do this.
  15. I was able to gain 2 tenths by going up to 52 hz. I did a 146 sealed on the dash today during testing. I may try some box positioning before the competition tomorrow. Does anybody have any other suggestions or ideas?
  16. I have no idea where to mount them.
  17. I believe they do. You would have to call Bob at American Bass. www.americanbassusa.com. He is usually the one that answers the phone too. In a proper sq box, I think they will sound really good.
  18. I am sure it will too man. If close to 4000 watts @ half ohm doesn't tear them to shreds on a burp, then it will definitely go up. I could stand to have a bit more battery power as well.
  19. I have used American Bass For quite a while now. The VFL's are dual 2 ohm 1500 watts rms subwoofers. The motor structure consist of double stacked 110 oz magnets I believe. This box can really make those subs move. I have to be careful on some of the music I play. It will bottom out on some of the lower notes if it is too loud.
  20. Hello Everyone. Here are some pics of my new subwoofer box. This box is tuned at 38hz and has a net of 3.5 Cu ft. It also has 55 inches of port area. This box sounds really good and plays low. We did a test on the TL. It did a 145.8 sealed on the dash at 47 hz, and 148.4 on the floor at 51 hz. My old box did the same as this one during this evening's testing. The floor numbers are down approximately 1.6 db from my usual 150 db. I think that it is due to the weather being cold and I could stand to have a little more battery power. Overall, I am very pleased with the sound and performance of this new enclosure.
