My elite red ringed on me last monday. I bought some artic silver grease, screws, nylon and steel washers. Been fine since.

I would pay the extra $100 and get the 42" over the 32". Thats just me though. On the 360, the new models have the jasper boards so they are supposed to be less prone to failure. Problem with the 360's was the dumb x-clamps they used to hold the heat sinks down and the grease on the heat sinks was crappy. My 1 year old system red ringed on me the other night. Nothing some good grease, screws, and washers wont fix. The screws and washers were used to replace the x-clamps and keep the heat sinks tight on the processors. Did I mention you can get the 360 modded to play....."Backed Up" games

You will love the samsung bro. I bought my 50" Plasma last April, and I couldnt be happier. It is only 720p, but plasma is on a whole different level. My 720p looks better than my moms 52" samsung lcd. Pick up DVE also, it will help you set all your colors how they should be. I thought I had mine dialed in until I popped in DVE....Damn! Anyhow, enjoy it!

You can find some good deals on plasma TV's. I bought my 50" samsung back in April for $1400. I have seen them as low as $999. Check at frys also. Walmart is hard to be as well. I think you can get a 42" vizio for like $750 at walmart. On the gaming system, I personally would go with the 360. It's all user preference though.
