I don't think you will need to run a fuse between alt and bat +. Not mandatory at all. But i would definitely wait till your alt comes in before you push it. I was pushin a crunch 3000k on my stock alt, fried that shit in a day =(. Now i have that mechman 250 alt and running 2k (about 2200 actually).

I say go with the 2 15's if you can. If you're worried about giving the XL's the minimum, then get lvl 4 with the lvl 5 coils and adjust your gains accordingly. I have a lvl 4 15" with the lvl 5 coils and i've given it 3k. handles well

XL's can handle upwards between 3k to even 4k. As long has it has room to breath at that power, dont wanna burn a voice coil lol My lvl 4 15" is running on 2k . It barely gets hot. =D
