i'm not talking about ipods. i have a 60 gb ipod hooked up but thats not a flash drive or external hard drive now is it? NO! i tried every size flash drives i could find and the biggest that my headunit would read is 8 GB my bad if that ^^^^^came out to sound rude. i'm just saying that we are talking about flash drives and external hard drives, not ipods

i doubt it. i tried that with my alpine 9886 and it wouldn't work it has to be a flash drive. and usually usb drives over 8 gb won't work because its to much memory for the headunit to read

^^^no. you can put them outside of the box and they won't take up cubic feet inside of the box or you can put them inside if you have the room for them.
