Hey and while I'm tripping on Graphics cards, why is their a few, like this one > http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16814102837 ......that have no cover on them, and look uglier than shit ? Nobody seems to care I guess, as this one gets great reviews, and it's only $125 too ! Come on guys...... I can see myself being up till' 2am again, beating myself to death over Graphics cards...... Yes, I already have a 500gig Seagate hard drive. Not too worried though. Heck, it took me 10+ years to accumulate 60 gigs of stuff. I mean, sure if I start collecting HD videos, I'm sure it could go fast, but then I'll just buy another hard drive later. I also already have a 300gig external hard drive, for backing up my system. That video card is overkill ? I like overkill, when I can afford it I'll go look at the 9600gt's now.... Edit; Okay, so I looked at the GT's..... a little cheaper, yes. But after returning the 4670.... plus a few more $ I got today, $150 to $170 (total, out the door) is not a problem. Okay, first off, the 4670 Graphics card has been returned to Best Buy, cash already put back in the bank, and I'm ready to pull the trigger on a different Graphics Card, with much better reviews. Okay, so by next week, all of the stuff for my PC build should be here. {don't have time to list all of the exact model #'s and such, but I will give you guys a detailed list later, if your interested} Anyway, I've got the tower, motherboard, PCU, power supply, video card, hard drive, memory, operating system... (oh, will be picking up a DVD drive this week) Basically, I've never put a PC together, but I'm hoping it's pretty much just plugging everything in, and hitting the "ON" button I am 99.99% sure that all of my hardware is compatible..... then as long as Fed Ex has kept the drop kicks to less than 15ft.... I think I should be okay A couple concerns I've read about, are damaging of certain items, with static discharge from handling.... and bent, or damaged pins {I'd think that would come from people who think if it doesn't go, just push harder } Finally, is their a correct order on what parts to put in to the tower first, to last ? I mean it's like, the excitement of my new stereo system (6 months ago) was already starting to wear off about now anyway.... and "even if" I had never heard your guys freaking outrageous setups, my setup was already beginning to sound "not as loud" as it did 6 months ago. So now, all day today at work, I was thinking like; Should I go with two 18"s... or four 15"s ? Would a T2000 be alright ? .....or should I just go straight for a T4000 ? I'm totally past the illegal downloads (or should I say, the P2P programs). And it's NOT because I'm so afraid to break a law that a 100 million others aren't already breaking anyway.... It's just because of all the "crap" recordings out there... chances for picking up viruses, etc. Instead, I use one of those programs that I do actually pay for {although admittedly, I pay SOOO little for it, I can't see how the artists could be getting a penny} ......but I don't "know" that they aren't. I'm paying my $20 for 150 songs, in good faith, that everbody that is supposed to be paid, is being paid. And now, every recording I download is top notch. Never a glitch. Never a virus. Peace, Fish

Hey Lowblue, I love not having to fiddle around with CD's anymore too..... But I have all my music stored on a $29, 8gig flash drive, which is totally accessible via my Kenwood X792 HU. Do you (or anybody here) know of any advantage to using my iPod with my truck stereo ??? I can think of one thing that makes the flash drive better.... It's CHEAP ! If it got stolen, lost, or stepped on, so what. I'll just run right down to Best Buy, and get another one. Once in while it might be cool to play a video on my iPod and play the music on my truck system. Hmmmm. I wonder how good the SQ would be on a video downloaded from say iTunes ? Hey Dustin, okay, I got you.... They do the same thing with a lot of different digital cameras. They call them "Hacks". A lot of people are surprised (I know I was) that many of the cheaper cameras are capable of a lot of the stuff that the more expensive cameras will do, but camera manufacturers simply don't program them to do that stuff (they purposely dumb them down) to give people more incentive, to pay for the more expensive cameras that "are programmed" to do more technical stuff...... then they put a nicer cosmetic finish on it, and market it as the "Grand Shiz"..... even though, in reality, it didn't cost a nickle more than the cheaper cameras to produce. Right on. I don't doubt that those other MP3 players sound great also. I'm assuming they are all pretty much the same technology. I have to believe though, that comparing differences must be splitting hairs.... because to my ears, with my Sony Extra Bass headphones, I can't imagine music sounding much nicer. Heck, like I've said, I have a hard time believing they sound as clear as they do ! Hey Imnot Yea.... I hear you on that. Plus the fact that you could not adjust any EQ settings like you can with pretty much every MP3 player. So, maybe my opinion on those isn't quite fair.... But I sure do LOVE my new Sony's Peace, Fish PS, Nobody has explained what "Jailbreaking" an MP3 player means ?

Oh, well anyway guys, I still went on to Best Buy, with my iPod, and was hoping to get to try a few different headphones with it. As it turned out, they had those $80 ones I mentioned setup, but you could not unplug them, from the source, and plug them into your own iPod None the less, they sounded freaking PHENOMINAL ! DEEP CLEAN bass, and great mids + highs. They also had a $180 set of Senheisers (sp ?) {the sound cancelating type} and from that standpoint, they REALLY did cancel out background noise well.... which is good for somebody with hearing nerve damage like me. But those did not have near the bass. Finally, they had a set of pre-amplified Bass Crushers (I think they called them) by Skull Candy, for $70.... and yea', for headphones, they had a rediculous amount of bass... I mean, like they were litterally trying to jump off your head ! Felt really weird actually. Unfortunately, it was a very unnatural, funky sounding bass, that really hurt the overall SQ IMPO. So, I got the $80 ones, and I couldn't be happier Notice how I've been avoiding the brand name ? So then, this guy shows me this set set of nice looking, well built, large, but light and comfortable headphones, in the $80 range, and says they slam..... So to be honest, I was on the way out the door to get them, when I sit down and see you guys saying > As long as they are "headphones", I can believe a $40 set having as much bass as an $80 set. about iPods..... Let me just put it this way; Talk about a hipocritical SOB ! There. I said it for you I just bought an iPod touch, and this thing is pretty freaking cool. I still don't see myself using it with my truck stereo. I have a $29 flash drive that works just fine for that. Also, I don't see myself carrying it around to have music in places other than in front of my PC... or while driving my truck. But what I think it will be GREAT for, is that I'm BIG time into photography.... both general photography, as well as fish photos. Well, I've already got close to 700 photos loaded on it (and my entire 700 song music collection, and I'm only using about 1/2 of my 8gigs ....so I can just carry this thing in my shirt pocket, to show a buddy my latest big catches.... then, if somebody else is there, and maybe wants to see my "all time biggest", I just scrolldown a few folders, and Bam ! ... or if somebody doesn't give a $#!+ about fish, but they are into photography, scroll to the general photo folders, and Bam ! I can show those off too Can't wait to get a new PC that can handle video editing.... so I can put a handful of my favorite vids on it also. And BTW, I'm TOTALLY impressed with the sound quality ! The ear buds sound clear, but not much bass. On the other hand, I played it through some light weight, cheapy headphones (some Bass 305 actually) and I could not believe how deep and clear they were. Loud ? Come on.... what is it like a 1/2" subwoofer LOL But really nice sounding though ! Then, the dude at Best Buy was showing me some head phones that were in the $80 range, that he said had a ton of deep, solid bass... for headphones, that is). 1) Can you now use songs downloaded from iTune "any way you want to" ? I mean, I had heard that before, you could "only" play them on an iPod or other Apple device.... But I don't / won't ever own an iPod. I need songs that I can store in my PC, or on my flash drive, and play on my PC or car stereo via flash drive...... 2) Is iTunes having some kind of security issues right now ? Last night I tried to download the iTunes program, and my virus protection popped up and said, "iTunes is experiencing some issues which could compromise your security".... and "Do you wish to continue".... First off, I know I don't look like the "typical" loud car audio / bass head. Oh well. I'm still laughing at some of the reponses on the YouTube vid, such as; "Tell me homeboy don't look just like the folks that be tellin' me to turn my $#!+ down" LOL Anyway, I had kind of a "double odd" situation this morning. I was cranking the $#!+ out of my system, when I pulled up beside a black guy, who was probably 10 years younger than me (so that would make him about 35... still not a kid) but 'most' of my black friends.... even the older ones, seem to have a little more 'beat' in their blood, than my older white buddies.... (not to stereotype, just fact of the matter). Not this guy ! First, he gives me the most pissed off look.... next he rolls up his window, then when the light turned green, he burns off in his older Mercedes, just to get away from me ! Huh ? Afterwards I was joking with myself, thinking, he probably actually loves bass / loud music... and was pissed off that some "old white guy" had a way better system than he did ! LOL Anyway, that just kind of surprised me... But I guess it shouldn't have. I, of all people, should know not to judge a book by its cover. Peace, Fish
