Need help with wiring.
Crump replied to 8v fury's topic in General Audio - Can't find a category for your question? Ask here.
You need a torch, 60/40 rosin core colder, and a clamp/pliers to keep the wire in place. Just heat the back of the terminal for 15-25 seconds then just push the solder into the other side of the ring (where wire is), and just keep doing that, the wire should pull the solder down into the wire, if it doesnt just heat the ring a little lower cuz the solder goes where the heat is. Then let it cool for a minute, then what i do to cap it, is cut a good amount of wire wrap it a small tight ball and put that on top then just heat it and it usually caps it pretty good. Maybe this isnt the best way but it works for me. Pm me if you got any ?s -
Learning Car Audio
Crump replied to snackeyg's topic in General Audio - Can't find a category for your question? Ask here.
I learned by hanging out at my REPUTABLE local shop and asking ?s over there, watching them work, and then eventually trying myself. I definitly learned how not to do a lot of things which isnt bad so to say, but the biggest thing I learned from this forum is soldering. I always solder 1/0,4, and 8 gauge this way you dont have to worry about a connection coming loose because of a bad crimp that wouldnt survive a pull test. Dont be afraid to invest some money in tools, having the right tool for the job saves you from having to stop midway through doing something. Hope this helped. -
How does this look?
Crump replied to BassAddict59's topic in Electrical-battery- Alternators- Wiring
Why cant you just run one y splitter to one amp, then run a set of rcas from that amp to the other? and you can ground the amps at the battery if you want, but the chassis works fine also. Then you gotta fuse the amps within 18" of the battery or closer. Also with your remote turn on wire you can just run one to one amp, then daisy chain it to the other like the RCAs. Pm me if you have any other ?'s -

One side was completely defrosted because it was on the side with the sun, and the key works it just wont get all the way in so I can turn it. I try to wiggle it, breath heat on it, I used the spray that my manager had, no go. That shit would cost a lot, lol I make decent money @ age 18, but I cant afford the 100 dollar an hour Ford Service. And my car only has two keyholes, in the two front doors. -
Well I got off work (12:00 P.M.-11:50 P.M.) so almost 12 hrs and im tired as shit and just wanna go home. I attempt to put my key into the keyhole, no go. same on the other side. So I cant get into my car, I end up having to wait 15 minutes in20-30 degree weather for my dad to come pick me up, and I have a cold that I have been getting over it and now im congested and feel shitty again. Its Fucking annoying that this happens, because the car is only two years old. So Now I have to leave my car overnight and worry about something getting stolen. Shits rediculous Can I have this checked up on under warranty? because that little spray doesnt work, and I have taken the panels off, but Never messed with the locking mechanisms. Please just tell me what I can do.

If you do it correctly and take your time, it should help you out a lot. But if your going to do it buy some decent material, I used some shitty stuff and am replacing it with second skin and I have to tear out all of my old deadener. lets just say it will take days of work to get it out -
Can you turst ebay
Crump replied to kogwanted's topic in General Audio - Can't find a category for your question? Ask here.
I only buy materials from ebay not equipment. i.e. Wire, solder, glass cloth etc But thats just me, I would rather buy something from someone on this site than use ebay -
