  1. 2 Audiopipe AP 30001Ds will show those subs 3,000 watts RMS each and will only cost you 800. Pm me if you're interested in being a legend in your town. :hairtrick:
  2. That's what I'm probably going to do. Seal the subs into the car through the seat hole, then run the sub port through the rear deck. That way, even when he has his leather back seat up, he'll still have the output from the port right there in the car.
  3. Does your friend have an isolator or anything between the two batts, by any chance?
  4. This car was made before armrests in cars were even thought about. Its back seat is like one big piece of leather. I was considering venting the subs through the rear deck, since I'm making one anyways, but I don't know if I will be satisfied with a bandpass box. I'm a fan of subs that can do everything; drop low AND slam. I've never heard a bandpass that I would want to listen to everyday. You?
  5. What about bandpass vented through the deck? Keep in mind that guys do like to have their rear seats up at least some of the time.
  6. I'm not a ear, nose, and throat doctor or anything, but you any disorder in one area often makes problems in the others. I think there's a good chance that your ear problems are coming from whatever infection your body is currently fighting off. If it persists, you obviously are going to want to go to a real doctor and not SMD. lol
  7. Hey Guys, I am about to start a system in a 67 Chevy, which has an absolutely HUGE trunk. I will be doing the front stage, wires, and deck tomorrow, but I have to build the box after that. Therein lies the issue: I have absolutely never been a fan of putting speaker boxes into trunks because it is very inefficient. Subs are going to make the trunk lid and trunk itself resonate, no matter what kind of damping material you put on it. After that, it's simple physics. If something is moving, it is because something is MAKING it move. If your trunk is moving, it is because your hard earned amplifier power and woofer displacement is being wasted making IT move instead of making the mic or your ears move. SO, I'm looking to start a discussion on the most efficient way to put subs in a trunk. Personally, I think sealing the subs into the car through the trunk or deck lid is the way to go (thereby taking the trunk out of the equation entirely except as a convenient storage space), but I would definitely like to hear your input. Feel free to chime in with any experiences whatsoever with trunk bass. I think we can put our heads together and come up with the PERFECT trunk application.
  8. Bassbaker15 has 2 American Bass 100.1s. I don't know that he wants to part with them, but he sure can tell you more about them.
  9. Can you buy a recone kit for two 18 BTLs or do you have to send them in? What's the process?
  10. Some touchscreens don't have a perfectly smooth finish like an iphone, though. Will this stuff still work?
  11. Got tired of that sandpaper, huh? You have the concept down very well, though. Your next one ought to be really nice.
  12. What is the most power on music have you guys seen those 18s handle safely?
  13. That is an extremely nice-looking speaker. What is it going in and on how much power?
  14. Still, that's a lot of horsepower from a 4 cylinder. The mechanic at our car lot is into swapping engines in Hondas and Nissans, so I've seen some pretty wild things. I built a box last week for a CRX that was so light that three of us were able to pick it up and move it around on the trailer, so I know what you're saying.
  15. If I were you, before I potentially wasted a lot of money on wet amps and subs, I would definitely take everything non-metal out of that trunk and look for the holes. Carpet, trim, tires, everything. I am assuming you live in an area where you drive in road salt. If your trunk is leaking because of rust, silicone is not going to fix it for long. Also, inspect your trunk seal for any cracks or rips whatsoever. If you find any, do yourself a favor and buy a brand new one to replace it with. Good luck...
  16. Imagine what kind of horsepower it takes to do one continuous donut like that!! Did you see the rear tires smoking at the end?
  17. What kind of enclosure is that 10 going into? SPL or daily? x2 on the American Bass amps!!
  18. You seem to be a guy who enjoys doing things with his hands (like the 4x6s and 6x9s). I know it's frustrating having no box, but a lot of people really enjoy building enclosures. I'm one of them and I know there are lots others on this Forum. Have you considered trying to get into a woodworking class or something? Is there a local tech school somewhere close?
  19. I know where to get AB 110.1s. We use a company that sells them wholesale. I will PM you details in case you're interested...
  20. Have you looked at the Hifonics ZXI1008? It is rated at 500w RMS X 2 at 2 ohms and has a reasonable price.
  21. I joined this Forum last year because I respect what Steve Meade is doing a LOT. I spend a lot of free time posting and seeing what you guys are up to. I have sold things on here in the past on here and have never had any problems. Today when I tried to post 2 New 3,000 watt RMS amps, I was told that you had to have 150 posts to post in the FS area. I had 141 at the time. I made 6 more posts, then over 20 were take from me. Does anybody know what's up?
  22. Install it right and you will get by with the Boss, but it don't expect competition sound from it. I think your speakers are going to make at least as big a difference in the overall sound as the amp.
