    voltage coming out of your speaker inputs is indeed AC. I cant rememebr but a wall socket is the same thing as like a high power 60 hertz tone.

    its a direct plug in for most. but say a guy like me who thought about picking it up for a multi alt setup would need to buy one. its only a ocuple bucks though. you're good and your price is good as well dont sweat it.

    the pigtail is the male end of the plug. the alt has the female side of it.
