This varies from branch to branch as well. I lived off base as an e-3 within 1.5 years of being active duty. Also, Af depends on what job you have if you get deployed. AF sends cops, medical, special forces and pilots. Most AF jobs don't deploy. This also depends on your career and branch. Again most AF jobs you won't deploy. Like I said earlier, this is mostly business like with a lot more computer, admin, IT type jobs. There are mechanical and more but if you score high enough you can choose what you want to do and sign up with that as a guaranteed job. You pretty much won't deploy AF and they will work with you for your schooling. Once you get trained in what ever job and get to your duty location, talk with your sup and or first shirt and tell them you want to continue with school. They will even give you time off for this. If you take a class that is during work hours, they will allow you to go to the class. I know in my field, they pushed and preached furthering our education. I'm sure all branches do, but I cannot speak for them. If you finish your degree and get to OTS, become an officer..I know you will make 2k a month, easily.

You where a flight suit, never have to iron, polish boots and gets you into to some really cool black ops shit. <-TS SCI clearance and possibly more.

2 years of school?? Try for the Academy. Let them pay for school and become an Officer. Nothing wrong with enlisting and if you do enlist ask to be a 1C6 (trust me, the job is worth it), but once you are in...work to finish your degree and then try for OTS and become an officer. You aren't far off from that and its well worth it..again, trust me on this (haha take it for whats it worth since you dont know me). It helps a hell of a lot more on the outside civi world. edit: AF all the way. No disrespect to the others by any means. I have nothing but love for those who serve, just the Chair Force is the better business like way to go!

I agree. Your alt will need to be replaced and I would do a hc2400 (or equivalent) and just have that up from(if it would fit, but thats me. Others may disagree). Oh and don't wang it all out while sitting at idle with the stock alt.
