  1. Scratch that, its ClayShootingUSA
  2. So my dad got a call today and i guess we made it onto a mag. cover. I think it was shooting clays USA, the OCT/NOV issue, I got number 1163 on my back and my dad is the big ass lefty, 1162 i think. Just thought id share with you guys, i gotta try and find this, if any of you got it, please feel free to scan the cover and post up an image, thanks. (and no we arent named, but were on it)
  3. about how much more per woofer? I figure i could always get the standard cones and if anything ever goes wrong i can recone them with composite cones.
  4. I figured the DD will be outta my range, any chance you could list a range of what it could be between? I figured i coldnt go wrong with the sundown. Which draws more current, the sundown or the AQ? This will be my first high power build, and i dont know what to do as far as ammount of batts and all. I was thinkin atleast 1 good group 31, and when i can afford one a H.O. Alt, but idk what will fit on my car.
  5. Im looking for an amp to do 2k+ at either .66 or 1.33 ohms. I have been looking at the DDM3a, but have no idea on the price, so its kinda, if the price is right, hells ya, but if its high, ill go elsewhere. Also been looking at SAZ-2000, ive heard it can be run under 1 ohm daily, and i figure its close enough to 1 ohm that with box rise itll be fine. And ive also been lookin at the AQ-2200D. It would be nice to do all AQ but im guessing the M3a is a bit pricy.
  6. What are the advantages of going to the composite cones? About how much extra is it? Is it more for cosmetics or is it for performance? Does it change the way the sub plays? Im guessing it will change the moving mass since its a different material. I searched a lil but i couldnt find much info, so i figured id ask.
  7. Or would this be better? Both come to 2.7 cubes after subs and bracing, 60 in^2 of port, tuned to 37 Hz (kinda funny that to get 37 Hz it needed 37" of port length. This will be going into the trunk of a 2010 lancer. Ive heard from a guy with an 08 or 09 (same car pretty much) that he did well with both setups EDIT: Forgot pic
  8. sig edit comming
  9. If you wanna drive up to CHI i got a guy who does glass for cheap. (good to know people in the glass and automotive industries.)
  10. also, lou, thats for a musical box yes? Just wanna make sure, i mean, the port is HUGE
  11. So, subs back port back then or still go subs back port to side? Ill go for 37, originally it was 38-39 but i figured id try 36 and if i didnt like it, build again, but time to design another one, as soon as i know how to face eveything. (also, port to the side works well for the space im workin with, if the box gets any wider ill probably have trouble getting it in the trunk.
  12. Well, i wont be doing this for a few months, but i got a design worked up, just under 3 cubes tuned to 36Hz for 3 DD1508's What you guys think? Heard from someone else with the same body style lancer that they had good results with subs back port to the passanger side wheel well, i can try passanger and driver and see what i like better. And i could also make one for subs and port back. I got enough time till i start the build to work on kerf cuts. My last attempt failed pretty hard.
  13. PYLE FTMFW, or funky pups
  14. Keep in mind if you need 3.5 sealed, and 4.0 ported, plus port volume....multiple subs...the difference can add up pretty quick.
  15. RL-s is rated at 1-2k RMS even though its a single coil. check the website.
  16. doug, not a problem. I dont mind a bit.
  17. I was planning on gettin an AQ2200D for the 3 of them. What tuning do they like? I was thinkin around 38 Hz cuz i know AQs drop way below tuning and i know AQ and DD are very similar products.
  18. Soundsplinters? Seen good things from their 8s, I imagine their higher end lines are better, they look pretty beefy.
  19. Wow, well now i feel alot better about gettin these little guys. Cant wait for my bday and xmass to be done, build is probably gunna happen this january.
  20. Lookin at the DD feedback section on their website. Read a few guys claimin BIG numbers outta trunks with just 8s. One guy said he had his amp (DDM80) was fused at 40A for meca rules for his class i guess, pushing 2 1508s and hit a 141.1 @38Hz on the TL on the windshield and a 141.0@36Hz at th headrest in a 96 Accord outta the trunk. Another claims that he hit a 151.2 with 4 of them off 1250 30 sec, on music. If this is so i now have NO worries about running these.
  21. damn, i fail. Thanks for catching that, ill edit it.
  22. What kind of music do you like, what are your goals for your system, how much power, max dimmensions the box can be (keep in mind you gotta get it into the trunk also, and like everyone else said, what size speaker?
  23. So im trying to load some pics onto photobucket so i can sell my old equipment, and now photobucket doesnt wanna work. I need to sell some of this stuff cuz my parents are gettin a bit agitated at it just sitting on the pool table and a big ol box takin up space in the garage.
  24. Its simple, there are no square units in a cubic unit of a larger value. There are 1728 cubic inches in one cubic foot. But comparing square units and cubic units is like comparing apples and oranges. Math is math, what you do to one side you must do to another. So you go from 12"= 1 ft. 12"x12" = 144 sq in = 1 sq ft. and 12"x12"x12"=1728 in^3 = 1 cubic foot. Understand now " EDIT: Thanks to fritos for catching my typo
