cone area the 4 10's is a little less but you've got more power going to them. whats it going in?

the transition is in the 60-70hz range whats your low pass set to? it could also be that the song itself isn't as loud during the higher notes and then pounds that 39hz

it also saves battery power which is why some people use the subsonic filter.with ported boxes there is a rolloff... low notes are harder to pick up then the higher ones. steve is acting like his own subsonic filter... notes he can't play he won't to save battery power for the ones he can play loud.

there is no real direct answer to this... I'm sure some more experienced guys will chime in its more of a combination of researching problems and solutions on this forum (trust me it teaches you a lot) asking your own questions getting experience in a shop like you said by watching the pros and picking up tips that you can use actually doing your own build and testing out some skills on your own car and if you are really interested I know Steve did a class over at Rockford Fosgate it was called RTTi (Rockford Technical Training Institute) good luck mate -Kasey
