Never been a big performance guy but got offered a hypertech chip for my truck. The guy wants 80 bucks. First of all is this a good deal? Secondly is hypertech a good brand? What all can I expec from thi thing? Better fuel mileage? More hp?

Forgot to mention in my earlier post but this amp is a huge power hog. I had one on my two 12" solo x's in my old ride and it was a voltage monster. wouldn't suggest it. Like I said you can get that power for much cheaper and much more electrical friendly.

Id say two aq 2200d's strapped. That would be you cheapest option for true wattage,

There is quite a large learning curve when you get into running big power setups. I hope you know what you're getting yourself into. You may be able to afford the amps and subs but can you afford the extra wood to build a stronger box, wire, alts and batts to get current to the high powered amps. It takes power to make power.

I agree with an ealier post. You should go with the AQ stuff. I have a 1200.1 and an hdc3 15 and love it. Can't beat the price for new equipment. Two hdc3 18's on a 3500d would freakin wang!!!!

I know if your port is too small you get port noise. What happens if its too big?

The aluminum coils also have a different suspension. DJ (owner of aq)told me their spiders are much stiffer to help with control on high power applications.

Well depends on your personal preference. I like to have a little headroom to be a little safer on my subs. Other people like to have as much power as possible on tap. To each his own.

With that kind of power I would start to think about the aluminum coils just to be safe.

When I first got my hdc3 15 I put it in the box that my *** trash had been in. 3.75 cubes tuned to 30hz. Don't know exactly how to explain it but it wasn't very loud and sounded like it was in a bucket or something. I changed the aeroports to 40 hz. and it was a dramatic difference. much louder and and better sounding imo.

Already been to the hospital. Have some bruised ribs and my neck hurts like a mother! I had a console speaker box for my AQ HDC3 15 and when he hit me in the passenger door it through me across it. On the bright side the doc was a cool guy and got me a Px for some good pain pills! Like I told pete over on the pwk forum. The parents don't really look like they will be able to pay me in case of a lawsuit.What happens in that situation This is the first real accident I've been in so I'm kind of lost.
