all i did was get a base circle about 10" diameter, and stack 4 or 5 4" mdf circles on that. then i took different some small pcv pipe to start the radius for the flare, i laid down some bondo glass and used the small pvc pipe to spread the bondo and keep the radius, to get the 1" final radius i actually used a burnt 2" voice coil, haha

well i can make aeroports out of pvc :-) only took about an hour to build up a mold for it.

Thanks man, and yea, 50 for daily, 12.5 per cube. at 37~8 hz the next box for spl may start out with 6 4" aeros, just because i can make them easily and for cheap,

Thanks, the comp port has just over 100 sq inches of port, and the box is 4 cubes. Hopefully once i actually do some testing in his truck to find his actual peak freq, and build an spl box, his score will jump. and also maybe some spl coils, haha. Thanks, and yea, old kinetiks are about dead, ive got a few different batteries im putting in for a little bit, until i get some new xs power batts.

Anyway.. The new score is a 153.0 db!! I got a few box ideas to play with for one designed for spl, hah

I hooked the SA 12s in his truck to the 2 1500s in my car, I expected more of an increase in score since i went from a 1200 watt amp at 1 ohm to 2 1500s strapped at 1 ohm. but it might of just had too much resistance from alot of extra wire. or it could have been because we had no one in the passenger seat for this on. anyway, Who wants to guess the score..

Im thinkin about getting another set of sa12s and putting the spl coils on them, will the sae 1200 go into protect on a .5 ohm burp? I know its not made to do it daily.

looks good, ive heard some good setups with those subs in person but i kinda looks like the port piece in the center is not quite in the center

Ok, so not 1500s numbers yet, But i got the sae 1200 in last weekend and metered it last friday. any guesses for scores on the 1200? Im hoping to gain more with a better battery than stock, but it still did nice numbers

Meca rules Amateur Street class pg 12 and Street class pg 14 7. Pickup trucks: enclosure must not be higher than the bottom of the back window seal. All equipment must be securely mounted in the cab of the truck. a. Standard cab trucks: enclosure must fit behind seat in the most forward position. If aftermarket seats or factory replacement seats are added, and the factory brackets aren’t used, then the brackets to hold said seats down must be made to line up with the rear factory bolts as to not increase the area behind said seats. b. Extended cab trucks, including trucks with 3rd or 4th door options: enclosure cannot extend past front door jambs, and, factory seats must be in factory location and position. c. I just sifted through db drag rules and it looks like the B pillar rule doesnt apply to single cab trucks their either 6-2 All loudspeaker enclosures, and / or baffle boards, with the exception of those mounted in the kick-panels or doors, shall be located behind an imaginary plane that stretches from the trailing edge of the driver’s door to the trailing edge of the passenger door. In this rulebook, the terms “B-Pillar” and “Doorjamb” are sometimes used when referring to this imaginary plane. Additional Guidelines: · Compliance with this rule may be verified by using the following test: Two judges position themselves on opposite sides of the vehicle. A string (or wire) is passed through the open doors of the vehicle. Both judges pull the string so that it is taught. Next, the judges move the string in unison so that the string slides along the trailing edge of each judge’s respective doorjamb. If the string does not touch the enclosure (or loudspeakers), then the test passes. · Any components that are attached to the loudspeaker enclosure, including speakers, amplifiers, signal processors, etc., are considered to be a part of the loudspeaker enclosure. · If any portion of the competitor’s installation interferes with the judge’s ability to perform the “string test”, then the interfering obstruction must be easily removable. Additional Guidelines Related to Pickup Trucks Only: · If the vehicle is a standard pickup truck (not an extended-cab or king-cab) and the subwoofer enclosure is mounted behind the front seat, compliance with the “string test” (rule 6-2) is not required. · If the vehicle is a standard pickup truck (not an extended-cab or king-cab) and the installation incorporates a “cut-through” to the bed of the truck, then compliance with the “string test” (rule 6-2) will still be required. · If the vehicle is an extended-cab or king-cab pickup truck, then compliance with the “string test” (rule 6-2) will still be required.

cant give up on a good sub cuz you cant build a box do a box thats 2 cubes with a 6 inch aero port, or a 30 to 40 sq inch slot port never just stick pvc in a sealed box to try and call it ported
