  5. as a cabinet maker of 12 years i am one of the very few here who are qualified to even think about your question..... id say go for it. the enclosure will have a far superior resonance and tonal response than mdf, and be stronger as well, as long as you do your joints correctly. i am very interested in seeing what you come up with. for a stiff enclosure, hickory would be optimal. for tonal response, poplar is great. alright so hickory and poplar any other hard woods that are great to build boxes with i already have some ash and cherry. how are those two? ash has a great resonance to it, which is why its used in a majority of the stringed instruments produced these days. hickory isnt so much of a tone wood, its just fuckin' strong. alright i think im gonna go with the ash but how is cherry as far as resonance and tonal response go

  7. thinking of making a box out of ash, cherry, or some other type of hard wood...the box will be made by panels so will this be safe to do? for those who dont know what i mean by panel the box walls will be made up of multiple small boards glued together to form a one of the walls of the box. then the panel will edge jointed, cut to be square and then planed to desired thickness
  8. i enlisted in the army in june of last year and i ship out 7/11/11. i signed at the end of my junior year so i leave less than a month after i graduate. if you are thinking air force there is one more thing to consider how fast do you want to leave....my girlfriend signed in february of last year while in her senior year and waited in delayed entry until janurary of this year to leave. if she would have went to the army she would have left a few weeks after graduation (this is what recruiters and other ssgts and sgts told her)so if you want to leave soon go army!
  9. yeah im just saying he wont have to worry about space if he runs my 18" in a sealed box
  10. an ascendant audio havoc murders the lows and i have mine for sale for cheap its the 18" version and it hits lows better than my fi q did and it can go in a sealed box that fits any decent size trunk
  11. still got my ed nine.1 for cheap as hell hit me up if u interested bro
  12. yeah either rusty for dc woofers or ed lester for t3 audio they are both on this forum and both great subs....knu wire is way to go and def build your own box or have someone with experience build you one and if you get a t3 t.600 sub or dc level 3 an alpine mrp-m500 is a good cheap amp
