    It's like trying to wire a house or something with the wires LIVE! You tie them together while they are live I guaranty there will be a spark lol.

    Get off the cap deal. Caps are just a bandage for systems. Get a new alt,put the red top up front and put the XS in back, do the big 3. Your electrical will be very happy.
