  1. haha np man. Let me know how the frat parties are with the new system.
  2. for what you are trying to do, I would go with the sherwood. Then run all 4 speakers off the main room channels and call it good. That receiver has been put on my things to buy with tax return check list.
  3. Seeing that the pioneer is a dedicated 5.1 receiver, it probably isnt the greatest for you. I was searching for an alternative around the same price range and came across this Sherwood multi room receiver. It would be better for what you are trying to do with a frat house(as you dont really need rear surround for parties) and still get the most output from your speakers. I would call PE before ordering the reciever to make sure you can play the same thing to both sets of speakers at the same time. Im pretty sure you can it just didnt specify it in the description. http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.c...tnumber=252-120 $199.95 edit: I stand corrected. I looked up the PDF manual for the reciever and it is indeed a 4 channel reciever allowing you to hook up 8 individual speakers. Say 4 in one room listening to a CD and 4 in another room watching tv. Pretty cool little receiver that I may just have to buy myself.
  4. Here is a pretty basic setup that wont be hard to setup and still get plenty loud for a frat house. I have two of these PA speakers and they can shake my house pretty good. Receiver http://www.parts-express.com/pe/pshowdetl....503&scqty=1 $199.00 Unpowered PA speakers x4 http://www.parts-express.com/pe/pshowdetl....tnumber=245-806 $799.92 Let me know if you prefer something else man.
  5. Thats kinda what I figured at first...but you said 5.1. In that case, I would hit up parts express and check out there powered PA speakers like the jbl's they will fuckin get straight loud.
  6. I just tossed something together real quick on crutchfield. Should get pretty loud for what you are looking for. 7. Truth ^^ I just purchased a new motor and tranny for my hoe and it has 155k on it. I love this body style of tahoe but you have to take into account that at over 200k on the body, shit has been worn down and will need replacing. Shocks, brakes, bushings, etc etc. If I were you, I would wait for something else. Plus 10 mpg on a good day is not for everyone.
  8. why not teach them? show them this website and let them learn for themselves. Its how I learned so I am sure it will work for others. No sense in bashing someone who is ill advised.
  9. The engine in the tahoe is not correct. To my knowledge GM never made a 5.2 chevy motor. The engine that came in those vehicles is 5.7L V8. I have seen some obs tahoes with 5.3 that the owners custom fitted in there, but never the motor the seller has listed. I would check up on it very well. Have someone who knows what they are doing take a look at it with you.
  10. My brother is stationed in Columbus, MS as an airtraffic controller. He likes it because it's steady pay and thats a big thing for him now that he has a little girl being born next month! If you do inlist in the airforce, you will go through BMT at Lackland AFB in San Antonio, TX.
  11. I have yet to see an incident on this site where an individual straight bashes anothers install without giving some sort of constructive criticism. If there is something missing or something that was done incorrectly on a build that was posted here, you can be sure that there will be someone who will try and point that person in the right direction. I wish I could say the same for other sites but this is the life of the internet my friend. As long as someone is able to hide behind a keyboard, they let their mouth run. If it has happened to you, I would take there words with a grain of salt and move on and continue your build.
  12. make sure the tank is as close to empty as possible. You dont want to have to mess with that thing when it has 20 gallons of gas in it.
  13. do yourself a favor and get a pair of tweets that frito posted above. I have a feeling you would be replacing those horns more than you wish to do so...
  14. just reading that you want 8 horns makes my ears bleed man. Two tweeters goes a long ways my friend. edit: what brand are they?
  15. Family business has to close down because the people we gave a line of credit to, refuse to pay it back....FUCK THAT After 4 months being unemployed, I find a job, only to get fired 2 months later because a cars hood got scratched...when I was on lunch break....FUCK THAT Old boss writing a letter to unemployment office saying how I shouldn't get my checks because I wrecked a car and then quit...wow FUCK THAT Aunt and Uncle who work at the same place won't stick up for me because they don't want to get fired. I paid for their lunch that day....FUCK THAT Made enough money via odd jobs to finally buy my subs, tahoe trops a valve the next day and I have to use the money to fix the truck....FUCK THAT Cant find a motor and transmission for a decent price...FUCK THAT Hoe wants to come over for a good time; drinks my beer, steals my cigs, and I get no ass out of the deal because she is tired....FUCK THAT Thats just in the past 6 months....FUCK THAT SHIT!!!
  16. Because he is an "expert." He is trained to determine what sounds good. Even when its a video on youtube from a handheld camera.... +1 for a facepalm smiley!
  17. this is the shit you discuss when you are high. haha but seriously, there are alot of words that have no meaning to them what so ever. its like someone tossed a bunch of random vowels into a hat and picked a few.
  18. And this is why I dont do my taxes anymore... haha. Whatever "numbers" mine are, I am guessing I claim 0 as I have no dependents and am single, I get alot taken out each check and get a good chunk at tax time. Ugh this thread has reminded me to go see my tax man to get everything sorted out seeing that I changed jobs like 3 times this year. :gun: :head: :bang:
  19. Before I did this, I claimed 1 all year, then 1 on my taxes. I owed $50 when it was all said and done. Started claiming 0 and then 1 on taxes, got back $500 the first year and $1300 the second. Plus having someone who knows what the hell they are doing figure up your taxes really helps.
  20. Your builds are stupid clean man! Your attention to detail is phenomenal and you make it look so easy! If that was my vehicle, I would be more than happy for the work you put into it.
  21. 1. Get my life on the right track 2. Find a job that I can actually make a career out of 3. Help my parents out financially as they are currently both out of work 4. Find a decent woman who isnt psychotic... 5. Finish my system 6. Start saving for a house
  22. Thats what I thought as well... I was getting randoms. I replaced cap, rotor, plugs and wires. Turns out I dropped a valve. Basically my truck sounds like it has a massive cam at idle and is very very slugish. Have a good mechanic check for this. It may be your problem boss.
  23. its upholstery suede and its cheap. couldnt hurt to get a yard to try out.
  24. http://distinctivefabric.com/fabric.php?product=UPHOLST2 email them what you are looking for and they will be more than happy to help you find what you are looking for. They have always been good to me.
  25. DF is out of stock of those two at the moment. Wait about a week or two.
