  1. The roof speakers are trash. Just disconnect them and leave it like that. You will never hear them. By "run of the mill coaxs" I mean just some pioneer or kicker 6.5 for the rear doors. Nothing to fancy. I am running a Mechman 250amp alternator with the adjustable regulator with only one battery up front and two kinetik 2400's in the back. I have about 600watts running right now and if I turn every acc on (ac, headlights, w/e) I only drop to about 14.2. To be honest, with your budget...you cant have the best of both worlds. Like previously mentioned by zfrerichs...I would start with an area of your system that you want the most. Bass, mids and highs, or electrical and go from there. Me I started with my electrical first, then moved to my mids and highs, and I am gathering funds for the bass as we speak. PM me in detail what you want out of your system and I can work out with you how to achieve your goals man. But for now...its grub time! Peace!
  2. Yes there is 8 speakers to be exact in our trucks. The picture you have is where the 1" tweets go. If it was me and I only had a $1000 budget...I would do a: cheap pioneer hu, some phoenix gold 6.5 comps for the front, run of the mill coaxs in the back doors(do nothing with the roof speakers), a decent four channel amp like alpine or powerbass, and then two 12" level 3s of a Hifonics BXI1610D. Knukoncepts wire I didnt get the exact prices so it may be a lil over your price range but you can always change things
  3. Diamond White is basically Cadillac or Buick white. More or less a pearl white... But yes ^^^ you are correct in that pricing for just the paint can be thru the roof. All depends on what color you are getting and how big of a vehicle you have. It is very hard to give you a correct price or even something in the ballpark because it vastly differs from body shop to body shop. If I have time today, I will check and see what the price of just paint for your car will be. no guarantees tho.
  4. Gotcha! I would love to come listen to how clean those speakers sound in a car. Only heard them on Hertz diplay wall and they truely amazed me!
  5. Looks like an amazing install with top notch equipment my friend. You do great work! But one question for you...why not run active for the mille's?
  6. damn im surprised she didnt wreck... if she drives 115 miles a day and its been like that for two days. 230 miles like that would be hell on bushings not to mention your arms. shes a very lucky girl this didnt end up bad
  7. congrats on the trophy man! Wish I could of made it out to see it
  8. I havent used those model of kinetiks so I wasnt in a place to give a review on them... My bad for informing someone where he should correctly post something. I guess everyone here likes it when people post things in the wrong sub forum. :01nocomment8so:
  9. this is the xs power sub forum bud. if you want to post a question like this, put in in general discussion or in the electrical section.
  10. This is without a doubt my favorite build on smd. Your attention to detail is outstanding and the overall build came out perfect!

  12. In the second picture. The one on the far left I will take. PM me
  13. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/98-04-CHEVY...sQ5fAccessories do they look like those by any chance? If so, I have seen a bunch of those style lights with HID's installed in them. Although those were on Old Body Style Tahoes and Silverados. I imagine they are the same. I say you would be fine. If they start to melt the housings....just get new ones. Hope this helps brother.
  14. Yeah I know the kelvin chart quite well. Too much time spent with marine and reef aquariums As to why someone would want pink hids....I guess for the same reason someone would want straight purple ones...just for looks. And to the dude with the S-10: I am pretty sure your stock housings will be just fine with HID's I will do some research on it when I get home from work. I will let ya know if I can find any information on it bud
  15. They come in a chrome housing also....talk about sick! Bright as all hell too!. And what the hell is with the sudden explosion of pink hid's about? Tonight I saw atleast 4 cars with them and one big dually cummins....its crazy. Never seen that many before in my life
  16. I doubt it will make all that much difference at all if you get the hi/lo kit man. If I understand correctly, the reflector only gets changed when the highbeams get turned on. So in theory, if you place a hi/lo kit into a low beam wiring harness, the lows will be the only one to shine. Won't change when hit your high beams. Now I haven't messed with many hid kits so what I say may not be correct. But thats how I interpreted it. And I live out in butt fuck egypt as well and I hate not being able to see for deer. So I plan on buying a light rack and just tossing some offroading hid lights up there and call it good. Ever consider that tacoma? edit: My hid kit will consist of either 8 or 10k lows and thats it. I wont even bother with the high beams. Maybe toss in a high wattage halogen but thats it. I did find a good set of hid rack lights but they are a grand for a pair
  17. no you should get a kit for the lows, then get a kit for the highs. they will be two seperate assemblies. A high/lo kit is just one and that wont work in your vehicle.
  18. Cant find a sure shit answer but judging by the pictures, it appears that you have separate bulbs for highs and lows. Here is an easy way to find out. Wait till it gets dark, turn yours lows on check the front of the vehicle, then flip yours highs on and see if they are coming out of a different bulb or in the same spot.
  19. Here is an example to help ya out: The old body style(2000-2006) Chevrolet Silverados have a two "headlight" bulb assembly per side. One for the highbeams and one for the lows. I believe the Ford F-150's have just a single bulb on each side that acts as both. And if you buy a hi/lo hid kit. Both the lows and the highs will be hid. What model of car/truck do you have so we can tell you what kit you need to buy.
  20. Good luck selling these Chris! Hopefully it doesnt take a month...
  21. Its looking good man! I dont know about you all, but I prefer to work on my truck at night. Less distractions and it is cooler than working in 95 degree heat.
