  1. i got a little more done today, got it all sanded and in primer. i'm also thimking about wrapping it in vinyl, i think that would flow better with my interior. any one have any tips about wrapping enclosures in vinyl.
  2. i totally forgot about fleckstone, i've got a kicker l5 12 in a truck box i built and painted it with fleckstone, in there now and it doesnt look that bad, and if you want to throw some ideas around go for it, i can use some suggestions.
  3. i need to figure something out to dress it up a little more, i'll be making another piece that attaches to the front of the box to blend it into the dash. i'll probaly mount my eq, and the factory outlets and cig. lighter in there as well.
  4. i've got a cadence z1200 thats rated at 1200w at 1 ohm, then when i've got some more $$$$ i'll look at getting something better in the future.
  5. thank you sir, my wife and i are just drooling over the work you do.
  6. thanks man, this is my first ported box and i'm really happy with the way its turning out.
  7. not much progress, but i started filling in the holes and the seems to smooth out the enclosure, and i put it in the truck to see how it was going to sound and i'm impressed. i dont have my sub yet. i used the memphis pr 12 in the first set of pics too get an idea of how it sounded with only a third of the power from my cadence z1200. cant wait to get my dc level 4 and run the amp at its full power. heres a couple pics.
  8. its going to be painted to match the interior, the paint color is a winter grey.
  9. thanks man,a guy on another forum that i belong to, who also does this stuff for a living has built a couple similar enclosures for other members, and they all seem to love the sound and energy they produce. i wanted to fire the port to the rear, but im kind of limited on space with a regualar cab chevy. i'll also be making another piece for the front of the box to help blend it into the dash. my amps will also be mounted to the back wall, with a trim panel.
  10. heres some more from today i still need to put the top on, and start filling in the holes and other little voids, and start sanding the outside to get it ready for paint.
  11. no thats a 12, i'll be updating more tomorrow.
  12. today i started on my enclosure, my first attempt at a ported enclosure, that will be going in my 98 chevy rcsb. the sub ( dc sound lab level 4) which i still need to get. hopfully in the next week or two. will be downfiring and the port will be forward firing. i'm limited on space and a blow through is out of the question. i need to go back to home depot in the morning and pick up another quarter sheet of mdf so i can do the port. hers some pics of the design laid out some tape, to help guide with the cuts where the sub will be housed and the wall to the left will have an opening cut out and used to to help brace the box. (sub in picture will not be used) heres a shot of the port opening on the front of the box. any comments or suggestions will be appreciated.
