  1. Big port does change tuning and make it harder to tune low. That AQ has 8 extra stiff spiders in it. That's why it didnt move. 2krms http://www.dcsoundlab.com/specs.html When I'm done you'll see 4-6krms well below tuning.
  2. Tacoma theres no real secrets to what I do. I've been testing on this car for over 3yrs to find what works. The hardest part for me is trying something new. LOL Iwent back to this box for the 3x DBDrag on Sept 20th to try and recapture some of the success I had with it. I really want to try a center firing port but was to chicken to do it this round. Definately over the winter will try it.
  3. This is a revisit box. LOL It consistanstly hit 150-150.3 43hz and 148.6-.8 bassracing lil jon push that Interior chamber is less than 2.5cu. Port is 10 x 13.5. I know its not pretty but fawk I only got 3 days to completely rebuild and test for port length.
  4. Dangit I didnt get my invite! WTF!! LOL Nice vidz Rusty! Now get that man some more power so those bad boys can get up and
  5. With 4 spiders I noticed a diff about a week later. After that 5 showed promise and have since stepped up to 6 extra stiff to try and hold the sub in the gap while being punished by 14k)
  6. x2 on home depot goop or shoe goop from walmart works!
  7. First box no corners and every time i put one in I lost. Second box 1 in the port bend. Recones are here and will be done shortly. Round 3! Aint done yet!
  8. I did it with the AQ's first so I def. say it counts And Red is my hero!
  9. For some it's not all about being pretty. This set up gets rebuilt on a regular until I find the right combo and then It'll start to get prettier. Besides show me someone else that can pull a 151.5 @ 39hz with a pr. of 10's in a trunk As far as the duct tape. It helps hold surrounds, seal around boxes, and seal for testing. It will always be present. LOL The box on the bottom was the first I ever built and has been outside in the snow, rain etc...
  10. So I pulled the sub and box out today and was quite surprized. The noise we hear in the vidz is the tinsel leads slamming against the cone. Sub is still 100% intact.
  11. Very little soft part wieght compared to motor force coupled with the ability to not bottom out equals crazy excursion in BOTH Directions. On any other speaker you would have heard the former bottom out before the surround crinkles. Believe it or not the lvl 5 10 is extremely sensitive to music.
  12. I see what ur saying but its nasty trying to work with 150+ pds on a baffle and hope ya don't break it. Plus nothing can get in the way of my surround. It likes to stretch out every now and again. LMAO!! Plus this way I can take out just one sub if it has issues. By all means buy a pr. and try it!
  13. I would love to see ya do that with a sealed, resined, enclosure. How ya gonna pick up that beast? How ya gonna get aroung the port wall to do so?
  14. It might just be me but i never have my subsonic freq on.. I'm also a psychopath that loves to beat up his subs until they cry mercy!
  15. Cut your baffle for the box and split it in half. First time I did it i tried a full front baffle and tried mounting them in together with the box in the trunk. Pic in my sig shows them before mounting them this way. It sucked so I tried individual split baffles and that worked out really well.
  16. Currently in the car are 4 Kintetik 2400's and 1 Yellow Top. If needed i have 2 more 2400's in the basement. Dont think thats gonna be a problem. LOL
  17. Feel the urge...Embrace the urge Just tell Rusty you want what I got!
  18. Well since u are the lucky viewer I'll spill the beans. I'm getting a Stetsom 14k2d http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/public/style_emoticons/default/hairtrick.gif
  19. To answer questions.... The sound that sounds like its rattling thats the former danceing at the end of the pole piece. It is impossible to bottom the DC out without haveing something give out i.e. spiders tear from the former. Duct tape is to help seal some areas around the sub and to help hold the surround down when it breaks loose. Also works well as a make shift seal to seal off the trunk. I'll see what I can do about a ruler. LMAO!!
