  1. Do the SAE1200-d v1 and v2 Clamp about the same power? What would be the difference? I have the SAE1200-D V1 and it truly is an excellent amp. When I hooked it up I had a holy crap moment... I see there was a clamp test done at 1/2ohm with these results on the v1 SAE1200-D POWER : 1770 Watts AMP VOLTAGE (measured) : DID NOT MEASURE AMP CURRENT (calculated) : DID NOT MEASURE ACTUAL IMPEDANCE (calculated) : DID NOT MEASURE SUPPLY VOLTAGE : 12.65 V What would this amp do at 1ohm at around 14.1 V just a ruff guesstimate is all I need.
  2. Windows 7 is pretty sweet... I am also using the 64bit version of Windows 7 but I also have 8gigs of ram that is why I went 64bit.
  3. Why do you rate it so low? Obviously it handles a lot lot more..... hell if it will take that much power you put on it free air, it should handle way more then 400rms.
  4. This is some good wood working skills here.. Crazy Custom Coffin
  5. Ok... I will get things set properly and see about getting it metered again. But I have been real happy with the results so far. thanks for all the input.. I would not be where I am today if it were not for all the input I have received from the SMD forum. and Decaf were going to have to hook up some time you are not that far from me. Maybe at a competition next summer sometime.
  6. so is 147db possible with everything set correctly? I do notice that the Sundown SAE-1200d wants more juice then the Rockford T1000bd amp. With the Rockford amp it would never go below 13v but with the Sundown amp it will drop to 12.5.
  7. Ok.. now that you explained it that way it makes more sense to me Also I never turn volume past 30 even if I am at a competition I only go to 30 max volume. I also noticed you said I had DB's to gain... if I get everything set correctly how much more could I see? I was a 145.7 with the T10001bd with everything set wrong... now with the Sundown SAE-1200D it definitely sounds louder but with everything still set wrong and more to gain would it be possible to hit 147 ?
  8. Few questions on this... some may be stupid but I have to know So it would be better to have the gain all the way down and Sub level all the way up on the head unit? is that less stress on the amp? would it not be better to have it where it is set now so I can make slight adjustment at the head unit rather then having sub level up all the way and having to readjust gains for competitions? Is there also a way to adjust the voltage out on the front and rear channels because my mid/high amp gain is set at about 3/4 also?
  9. RCA for input were unplugged when making adjustments its a tight area. and I took a picture while I was at it
  10. Head Unit is an alpine CDA-9856 I did not know you can change the voltage out on the head unit I thought it was at a set point. no the sub level is set at 0 everyday but I will turn it up to 6 when getting metered.
  11. Well I finally got around to hooking up the Sundown SAE-1200d that I got about a month ago. I had another thread on here about weather or not the SAE-1200D could put out .3db more then a Fosgate T1001bd. Well I have not had it metered yet but I am going to say yes it will.. there is a pretty good difference between the two actually. I do have a question about subsonic filtering though and Bass EQ here are my settings on the amp here are the settings Crossover is at about 80-90hz Subsonic is about 1/3 Bass is 3/4 Gain is 3/4 Do they look ok? I tuned it by ear and it sounds fine and is putting out plenty of bass, and I am able to play it full tilt with no issues. It is running a pair of RFR2215 Rockford Fosgate Power Series 15's
  12. How do you find out what your impedance Rise is? Play at close to full volume with ohm meter on speaker wires at amp? Now my setup is kinda weird because I have 4 dual coil 4ohm subs... 2 subs are wired to 4ohms then wired together to 1ohm. The other 2 are wired to 8ohm then wired together to 4ohm then the 4ohm and 1ohm wires are wired together to get .8ohm but what I am actually seeing at the speaker wire is 1.1ohm
  13. my Last build I did a 138.5 Sealed at the head rest Meca style and a 140.7 At head rest on passenger side with driver door open. So I am just going to guess maybe 2 db so if I can hit a 146 with door open I should be close to 144 sealed up but this build could be different. I have heard some people tell me you score higher at the dash then you do at the headrest but I have not actually tested at both places in the same event. Maybe someone that has a TL meter can test that theory and run a test at the head rest Door closed / Door Open then play the same song at the dash Door closed / Door Open.
  14. Steve, Quick question when you get your AA Subs are you going to drop them in that box? Is the displacement pretty close to the same as the Fi's? I thought I read somewhere that you would be building another box but I was not 100% Sure Nice video.. I cant even imagine how loud that is.
  15. Looks like a simple design but each chamber was made to each subs specifications minus sub and port displacement to within .005. Figured it all out by hand was not done on a computer, RE Calculator or bass box pro. I am happy with the performance of the box. But the main question is can a Sundown SAE1200d amp get me that extra 3 tenths than I cant get with the Rockford Fosgate T10001bd to put me into the 146 range. Just got the amp today I will hook it up this weekend, soon I will know.
  16. That is exactly it.. dual chamber box tuned to the same freq
  17. Should have made the show so I could make a believer out of you... Ask CrumpT1 and Slapuhho about it they got to sit in it and hear it. I got another one for you that hits 145.7 different song Same day my third run. not clipped and not distorted and I believe this is your song unless you clipped it when you made it could have been Bigpimpin also I am not quite sure. I actually played this song to get a laugh out of people and it worked... I was surprised it hit at my peak also.
  18. Well I have about 8 inches of play moving it forward or backward.. no room side to side.
  19. by the way Steve that box turned out really nice wrapped. How much did the material cost to wrap your box?
  20. About time I have watched every update.. and ever since your box was done I kept thinking Come on man.. through it in there and lets hear it bang...
  21. A little more info: Name of the song in the video is: Danity Kane - Show Stopper Also another question... things that I notice since I have been playing a few tracks. When you are playing songs that are close to your resonant Frequency do you get less voltage drop?
  22. At my last competition I did a 145.7db at the passenger dash with my driver door open with the equipment in my sig. So I am not quite sure what the actual power output is on my T1001bd but it is definitely a sweet amp. I just purchased a Sundown Audio SAE1200d amp and was wanting to know with exact same equipment minus the T1001bd and add in the SAE1200d if you think I can get into the 146 range? I am a little confused because the Fosgate Amp is 150amp fusing but only rated at 1000 RMS @ 1ohm The Sundown SAE1200d is 150amp Fusing and rated at 1200 RMS @ 1ohm I have heard a few people say to take Fusing x 10 to get your hypothetical RMS output of course minus impedance rise ect...ect..ect that would mean that these amps would be right around the same... I guess I will know more when I get the amp and hook it up and meter it but want to know a few of your thoughts on this.
