  1. Thanks for the template. I'm searching through USPTO's database right now. Are there any other resources you can suggest to check if my idea isn't already being used? I appreciate all the help.
  2. I'm doing a lot of research to make sure it hasn't been done. How exactly would I word the non-disclosure agreement? Is it a general contract, or does it have to state the item in discussion?
  3. Thanks for all of your input guys. I think the face to face meeting would be best. Ray, i'll be in cali in January. My wifes' family is in Fresno, so i'm sure we'll make it up that way. Maybe we can meet up and i'll let you see what i've got.
  4. Amazing how much shit you find when you move. $15 shipped each. EDIT: $15 shipped each
  5. Sounds ok. I think my issue was the low tuning. Make sure to post a video or two.
  6. You're tuned higher than I was, but 400 watts each is alot for those subs. How do you plan on wiring it up?
  7. These are now sold. Lock it up please, mods.
  8. I did .8cuft @31hz on 350 watts and there was just too much excursion. I think 300 watts in .6 cubes tuned to 34ish would be great. Check out post #8 here: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/91005-level2-8-door-flex/
  9. make the prototype first, see how it works out, if it turns out the way you like it, then get it patented per say for 20 years... you'll be good then...but still gotta have the prototype first I might do that. It'll take time but probably the best route. DC has treated me well. Maybe face-to-face i'll present it. I'm really just looking to see if there are any other legal protections besides patents so I can present the idea, and not have it stolen.
  10. I came up with this idea and want to get it out. Problem is i'm no stereo tech and don't have the means to design a prototype. How can I introduce this idea without it being stolen? Can I patent it without a working prototype? I don't want to get in discussions with an audio company and they steal my idea, you know. What do I do?
  11. Box is too big, from experience. Try .6 per sub.
  12. I'll be on the lookout when they officially go up.
  13. I might be. I'll be in California Jan 15, PM me your asking price.
  14. They are glued, they're the ones I used for my wall. You can cut them in half and add or remove what you need, then just get the connecting rings on Parts Express for a couple bucks. And yes about APO shipping, it should be free shipping. Let me know, i've got a couple other pm's, but nobody's serious yet.
  15. Just trying to lighten the load before moving. These are 6" diameter and 14 1/2" TOTAL length. They can be cut to be shortened or lengthened, you just need connecting rings. There are 4 small screw holes on one flare of each port and they need to be wiped down, but thats all. I'll let them go cheap, $15 plus actual shipping each. They're $33 plus shipping brand new.
  16. right there is there first problem u r not charging at 14.4 This. Have your alt tested.
  17. I sent the car off today. Charged the batts overnight first. I don't know how well the ship is climate controlled, if at all, but i'm sure it's hella cold in the mid-atlantic this time of year. I'll let you know Feb 14th, thats the delivery date.
  18. Thanks guys. Thats all I need to know.
  19. Bump. Will these 6500's hold a charge for 10 weeks without a recharge?
  20. Cold air can give you more SPL (on the meter), but not be as loud to the ear. I made a topic about this last winter. Warm up the subs before slamming them in cold weather, the spiders especially don't like sub-freezing temps.
  21. I have a 1200 under the hood connected via 4 runs of 1/0 to two 6500's in the trunk. My car is not going to be started for 8-10 weeks while in transit. The plan is to take out the fuses between the front and back batteries, and put them back in when I pick up the car. The front battery will probably be drained by the alarm by the time it arrives. Will the 6500's stay charged for 2 1/2 months? All the batteries rest above 13 volts.
