ok so i have been messing around with my o scope and signal generator, so i decided to do a visual representation of what a clipped wave is and why its so dangerous first off here is a normal 600hz sine wave at +15 DBu amplitude as you can see this wave has a nice smooth rise and fall to it, no real sharp jagged edges here is a slightly clipped 600hz sine wave at +17 DBu Amplitude and here is a severely clipped 600hz sine wave at +20DBu

and another once again at 40mph
