  1. haha yeah i know just trying to see if i can save some money!
  2. i was hoping to use all 2700s or all 3100's its not really worth it to save 40 bucks. lol
  3. okay. well i certainly dont want to skimp out on my electrical. and seeing how i have to buy several batteries id like to save money wherever possible. im in college and have a limited budget. so my question is. how much better is the 3100 i plan on running 7k daily. ill need 3 or 4 if yall need anymore info let me know.
  4. 2:1 ratio will give you a broad curve. 20 per is going to be groundpounder so dont expect big numbers. but itll help get down on the lows. and move air. tuning thats low for 4th orders is down in the low 40's wade my box in the truck is tuned to 46
  5. i would do about 3 cubes per woofer tuned to 33 hz at 16sq in per on the port
  6. i cant run a single amp. ill have d1's and im not doing .25 ohm lol. and wiring up is not an option for me 2 bc 2ks strapped will be good. i already have one so thats why im just buying another for now
  7. im doing two bc 2k's first. then saving money for electrical to do 7k
  8. I'm just surprise that mechman said it would be enough. 2 batts and a 270alt is perfect for 3-4.5k but not 7k you would see drops to 11v or even below. i agree. thats why i thought id ask on here. i will be running 4 k for a while to save up money for batts and alt to run the 7k.
  9. i only play it full tilt when im showing it off. but other than that it wont be at full tilt. i know ill have drop but i want to keep it in 13's at least. should i talk to mechman about getting a second 270 yeah. im guessing ill need 3 3100's i dont exactly have all the room to put batteries
  10. well it will be a true 7k. and thanks. do yall think i should just buy another 3100. two 3100's and 3400 up front? charging will be at 15 volts.
  11. you have a normal everyday car battery? i think its safe to assume you have a dead cell. but take it and get it checked anyways. i would suggest buying a optima yellow top. unless you plan on getting more power and bigger subs etc. then go with xs or kinetic but lead acid batteries such as a stock battery are not made to handle the draw of soundsystems.
  12. definitely get rid of the cap. then take your battery to a shop and have them load test it. to make sure you dont have a dead cell. but usually when you have a burnt post its a dead cell. your voltage will measure the same but amperage will drop. im assuming you have a lead acid battery ?
  13. okay title says it all. i was told by mechman a d3100 and my d3400 would be enough. along with my 270 amp alt. im kinda skeptical about this. but i also know that matt knows his stuff. anyways. any input? thanks
  14. if you have black on the posts its not going to be the cap. however it could be the source of the problem your cap causing the battery to over heat because your charging system is pushing amperage through a dead cell. id replace your battery. as well as take out the cap. but the battery is going to be the problem
  15. great stuff will never ever come off of your interior lol. its ridiculous stuff to remove. i taped plastic drop cloth to my doors and then sprayed the gap with foam. i only went about 4" back, as i didnt want to use like 20 cans of it lol. And yes, the foam goes all the way around my baffle. the roof, floor, and both doors are sprayed with foam to hold the pressure. lol. i was thinking about taping trashbags to my roof haha. but i plan on sealing it up and putting a 1/4 in mdf panel on the front of my wall to make it look like theres no foam. thanks for the help
  16. looks awesome man. when you used the foam did you just spray it until it filled up the entire backside? around the whole box? im doing a wall and idk how to go about the foam part. also does the great stuff come off your headliner? thanks.
  17. it would probably defeat the purpose. maybe using the spectrum would work better
  18. ground noise maybe. change out the grounds to better ones.
  19. id be verrry careful if you put spray foam where the weather seal is if you put too much it could warp it then it will be raining in your trunk. Could I use dynamat on the trunk lid where the weather seal sits? it wont help much.
  20. id be verrry careful if you put spray foam where the weather seal is if you put too much it could warp it then it will be raining in your trunk. ive known people to actually spray it into the weather seal. since its a hollow seal
