  1. Awsome I was also wondering how long it was going to be before I this happened.
  2. It could have been a forklift but I don't think it was I run one at work but that don't make me a pro but it wasn't that big or deep. The foam deff protected it, I inspected it very good. I was just a little worried when I first seen the hole. I have to say UPS lost half of my liftkit for my Toyota. They delivered a open box to my door and left. A signiture was not required, I had to open a claim with them. So I guess they all have horror storys about them.
  3. My dc lvl3s came fedex too. The one box looked like somthing got punched throught the one side. Luckly the foam it was packed in protected it. I feel for ya man my heart sank when I saw it on mine. Good luck to ya.
  4. Ok thanks I was not going to round off the port. Ill have to post when its done and let you know how it comes out. Thanks
  5. Is that 9in total. So im guessing i need 8.25 because of the .75 thickness of the side leg? Or do yu want 9 plus that .75? Ok this is what i got. Thanks for helping. http://i200.photobucket.com/albums/aa316/r...os/finalbox.jpg I cant seem to get the pic to post on here.
  6. THANKYOU for the help. I was a little nervous this would get alot of views and no posts.
  7. Why does what have to stay at 1.5cft. I spoke with Rusty and he said to these subs like 1.5cft each so im shootinfor 3 cft. This will be a daily setup not a spl. But I do want to get what I can out of it. I have them in a 2cft sealed box without displacment. I keep reading about how good ported boxes are. Thanks Ill shorten the back port leg down. Thats all I need to Change other than the bracing correct? Edit: I can change that if it would be better. Im new to the ported boxes so im game for anything that would make it better. Edit 2: Just shorten the back piece from 38.5 to 38 bringing the width to 39.5 or widen the front piece to 35 where the subs are mounted? Edit 3: Is it bad to have the port area that heigh?
  8. I thought Rusty said that a dc lvl 3 12 was .15. I will have 2 of them. This is just a pic i pulled from another post. Am I correct I could be wrong. I will deff add those supports thanks. Could I also put a 45 support in the corner of the box at the corner of the port ( top right corner in the pic) so that would take some of that port size down a little and help air movement. Any dowels from top to bottom? Thanks for the replys I really appreciate it. Edit: I am ok going a little bigger with the box volume if I need to. I can shorten the port a little. I just wanted to stay as clost to 3cf as I could. This is for 2 12in DC lvl 3 subs ran by a sundown saz1000d amp.
  9. This is what I came up with from reading all the other posts. I have tons of time into this to get it what I have. It is the third one and hopefully the final one. It will be two DC lvl 3 12in subs instead of 1 15 in this photo. After sub displacment .30 and port displacment 1.03 I am coming up with 2.99 and I was needing 3 cf for the subs. I have 30 in of port. Port area is 50. I am at 16.66in port to cf box. It looks like it will be tuned right around 35/36 hz. which I was shooting for 35 to 38. If anyone has any advice please speak up I have never done a ported box before.
  10. I have searched but came up with nothing on the lvl 3. I want ot know what displacment os on a 12in lvl 3 sub. Thanks
  11. Are you going ported of sealed with your setup?
  12. Im workin on getting a diffrent box now but I dont know how to design one so it may be a while.
  13. Here it is. Its a video of the subs looking through the plexi. Its kinda dark so ill do it again later. My neighbor said I was ratteling her windows so I apolagized and said I will tune it at work so it dont disturbe her. http://s200.photobucket.com/albums/aa316/r...nt=MVI_5026.flv And Mclovin they sure are lvl 3s. I lucked out and got a 4'X4' piece of 3/4 plexi from work for free. I just had it sitting around and finall got to put it to use. Thanks everyone
  14. Hey man thanks I fixed it. Nice trailbalzer, you shold check out the trailvoy sight. Thanks for the help
  15. I wan\'t thinking when I made the thread title. If a mod would like to change it they are free to. Thanks for all the good feedback. I built the ampracks and box at work. I wanted to keep it clean and simple. The box is built to 2ft3 interior. I want to deff. go with a ported box but I have no Idea how to desighn one. I have been reading on diff port sizs tune it diff and I must say I am completly lost. Its been a while since I have had a system so I am a little behind the times.I have had alot of advise from a friend on this install. The stero shops around me wont even do ported so have been tring to learn on the net. I wanted everything to be no heigher than 14in because I have a cargo cover that I can pull over everything when we go out. I need to get a camera that will take video and I will post somthing. Mine is broke at the moment. Took vidoe at Carlisle ATN just to find it was all messed up. We go out every year with trailvoy.com the other forum im on alot. I have one question I get TONS of bass with rap songs. But with rock there is barley any could that be the box design. Will ported help me with that? Any Ideas. Amp is sundown saz1000d with bass boost on 0 helps a little to turn it up but not much. crossover set to about 80hz headunit is alpine 9886. Thanks Ill try to get video soon. Ok this is the best I can do at the time. http://s200.photobucket.com/albums/aa316/r...nt=MVI_5008.flv
  16. Well I got my DC lvl3 subs last week and got them installed this week. I figured I'd throw up a few pictures. So far I am really liking the setup. They are powered by a saz1000d. I am looking to go to a ported box.
