  1. Most of that went over my head. How do you change the phase? I am going on a couple assumptions here so let me know if I am wrong about anything. First, you have a 2 channel amp that is bridged to your sub You are either using a line-out converter OR your amp has high level inputs. When I say phase (polarity) I mean whether the + and - is hooked up correctly. When the guy used the rear speakers to get a signal, he probably hooked the + and - of ONE side up incorrectly. Feel free to add some pictures of how he wired the rear speakers if you can.
  2. it's beautiful man, just beautiful! glad you're ok, glad you are happy with the outcome
  3. Fawk, this thing is starting to get broken in and GOD DAMN. The lows are getting loud and the whole thing is getting LOUDER. This is one hell of a sub, it just shit stomps that JL out of the water. How the hell do you people do it with these big ass setups? Anyway, thanks Rusty and DC peeps for a kick ass sub!
  4. I love these amps. I had a black one (not the art series but I don't remember what it was) for a long time, until it was stolen It was beautiful and sounded beautiful as well. You will be much happier with that over your kicker, I'm guessing
  5. when people have specific questions that are needed for specific answers, yes we generally help but all you see now is 4 dc lvl 5s, what amp? i want to run 20,000w what amp do i need? i want to be like steve meade, how can i do 4 18s in my tahoe... how do i port a sealed box im running 20,000w and cant figure out why i have voltage drop with a stock alt and 2 batts... its shit like that thats getting annoying... if you research shit for your specific setup, and post up and say *ive looked around, this is all i could find, and was wondering if there was any way to make it better or improve from this* then yes, ill fucking help... but stupid ass questions get stupid ass comments Both of these x10000000 If you read these forums, there is a near endless pot of information that people who have busted their asses learning. On top of that, they are willing to share that information to people FOR FREE! It is infinitely annoying for people to come in here and do jack shit to learn and just expect this knowledge to be handed to them. People need to make an effort to understand stuff first, then with that attitude, you can begin to learn from the people here. The just tell me attitude won't let anyone learn and it is disrespectful to people who put in the effort to expect intellectual handouts. Do your part first, then when all seems hopeless, you have a place to get help.
  6. My money is on one side being out of phase (assuming a line-out converter). The first time I hooked my stuff up, one side was out of phase (factory HU, line-out, and the wiring diagram for my car was wrong). On a few frequencies it sounded great, most of the time it was very quiet. Also, using balance to cut out one side will make it louder since it is in phase again. Try switching just one side, even if they both end up out of phase with the rest of the system, and see if the bass works then. As for your power issue, just check connections and fuses.
  7. No need to run a separate system when both systems are charging at the same voltage.
  8. This is what I would do. Connect both batteries in the back together (+ to + and - to -) Connect back batteries to a single front battery with however many runs of 0g you think you need Connect both front batteries together The end result should be something that has all batteries in your car connected to a single battery up front. I do realize that they are all connected together but for me, this would make the wiring easier. I would then connect EACH alt to one of the batteries up front. 2 alts, 2 connections, either battery. you can run both alts to on battery, or each alt to one of the batteries up front. Doesn't matter. What does matter is that each alt gets its own wire to a battery.
  9. unless you are running 2 charging systems or an isolator, it should all be connected anyway. To get into specifics on how to wire your particular set up, we would have to know lots more info about your setup. How many batteries, where they are, and so on.
  10. Or actively cross them. Infact, that's probably his best choice in this case. Yes I agree totally, I was just going off the passive crossovers he linked.
  11. You know that impedance will change your crossover frequencies right? It would be a good idea to figure what your final impedance is before you go picking out crossovers.
  12. Your impedance changes with every frequency you play through your subs. You can either play a single note and get the most out of your amp, get a constant power amp that puts out constant power across a small range of ohms, or not worry about it. If you already have your amp, don't worry about it.
  13. no reason to run them biamp. just hook at 600-4 to them and they will scream.
  14. What kind of signal processor do you have? And why do you want to over power them so much? A single T600-4 would run them perfectly, all of them.
  15. well, i teach music, no one is getting rich off me, including me!
  16. You get no boss, I will stick with 3 months of vacation a year, paid.
  17. Yes. The principal of the school is my boss. Of course he leaves me alone during the summer months, 2 weeks for xmas, a few days for thanksgiving, all kinds of single holidays, and a week for spring. All of this paid of course. The down sides are not being able to pick your vacation time and of course, if you don't like kids...but I love kids so that isn't much of a down side.
  18. i dont get christmas bonus either. hell, i dont even get the day off paid. i dont get any paid holidays. Fuck that. I don't get a bonus but I sure as hell get my holidays paid.
  19. Yeah, I agree with you on everything. I missed that OP was wanting to get a new amp, I thought people were trying to talk him out of that one (that cheap) amp and I was just trying to say it will work. There was one poster who told him to ditch the multi channel and when another poster suggested a mono would be better, I just mis-read it to say you couldn't use a multi like that. Now that I read it again I see what he was saying. Someone else can chime in on Hifonics, I don't know much about them, however this amp here will work well with your sub.
  20. The 350 watt RMS amp (2 channel, bridged into 4ohm) will work just fine for that sub. Why does everyone keep insisting that you can't use multi channel amps on subs? That amp isn't the best amp around but it will sure do him fine until he gets a better amp. Of course you can use multichannels for subs...and monoblocks for your front stage...the point is... Kynto never said you can't, he suggested the easier more efficient route. Fair enough, there was another post that said monoblocks were for subs and multichannels were for mids and highs that I was more referring too. Although in this case, the 2 channel amp (aside from being cheap) really does work just fine for what this guy wants.
  21. Go listen to some and make up your own mind. Nobody here can tell you what you like.
  22. Ok, bridge the sub and make it 4 ohm to the amp. Got that. What I want to know is how to wire the sub in the box. There should be (2) +/- terminals on the sub itself. + -------- + - -------- - if your looking at the sub magnet UP. or just run off one set of terminals on the sub? ^wires^ First, you bridge an amp, not a sub Your amp should have a diagram on how to hook it up bridged, most likely a + terminal from one channel and a - terminal from the other channel. Your sub only has one + and - input, a single coil. That ground pounder whatever it was amp is not that great, make sure you are feeding it a clean signal and setting the amp to output a clean signal. Whatever you do, don't try to get more out of that amp than you can. 350 watts is a good power range for that sub, you can give it more but you certainly don't have too. To reiterate, DO NOT try to get more out of that amp that you can. If you set the gain to max cause it is loudest that way you will fry you sub and possibly amp too. That is a cheap amp but if you use it carefully it can do OK. You have a decent subwoofer that will do very well with a really good amp, so make your next priority a new amp.
