So heres a story for you guys, Sunday i was at grad party for one of my friends and I got to chatting with a kid about car audio he told me his setup and I shared mine with him. So my girl friend and i go out to his car(Mitsubishi eclipse) I get in and goes "is 20 okay?" He is running a couple oif 6x9s and factory speakers it didnt sound good, bass hits, sounds like poo poo. Pop the trunk and he has 2 kenwood subs in a sealed box firing up. I don't know what it was but he kept telling me a 1600w amp because his subs are 1600w subs, one of the cones on the sub was cracked so he says i guess thats what happens when your that loud. So I show him my setup, mine isn't much to brag about. My mids and highs alone were better than his. Bass hits and completely blows his out of the water. Im not trying to brag about my system I just hate shit talkers, this kid was talking shit all day long and I shut him up with one 12 on 700w tuned to about 35hz. When my demo was done he goes "do you want to trade?!" Just thought someone might want to hear my little story.

Yeah Ive used it before, I just finished doing the rear doors. I did a few inches around the speaker and about a foot and a half squared behind the speaker. I cleaned both surfaces with windex to get all the major dirt and shit off then wipped everything down with rubbing alcohol. Got rid of the small rattles I have in the rear door and the bassy notes coming from the rears sounds better. Later in the week i will do my front door when I have some time. EDIT: forgot to add this, i did one layer around the speaker and 4 layers behind the speaker, just because I had it lol

Ive already got a set of cerwin vega comps, they are like a month old. I can't spend that kind of money right now. How ever today im going to peel n seal my rear doors around and behind the speaker, get rid of the little bit of rattle and hopefully make it better.

I dont have space under the drivers seat, there is a huge metal bracket for some relay, i dont know what the hell it does. Still getting to know my new car. So you think i should just scrap that idea?

I have an mbquart 4 channel, it has full range output but i am not sure about the voltage, i dont think it should matter too much. I was talking to a buddy of mine and from what he told me is to just set the hpf and lpf and i should be good to go, also run the rcas from the full range out put from the 4 channel

I cant run rca's off my headunit. That would give me a 2v signal to midbass amp and 7v to everything else. Also what do you mean the signal is cut? as in you split the rca?

Ok guys I got a newer car, I used to drive a 97 malibu now i have an 08 pooniac vibe, nothing special but its a hatch should get loud. Yes I will be starting a build log soon lol. I want to get a little more out of my midbass. I was looking around the car and under the passenger seat there is some space where I could put an 8 inch sub in a small sealed box. My question is how should I run rca's to the amp(hifonics hifi200.1 2 channel.) I have the power bass equalizer, I was thinking either split off of the rear on the eq or just use the ouput on the 4 channel amp. Would that work or would it mess with everyhing while tuning around the eq? Also for midbass what should my settings look like on the amp? I was thinking the polk db 8 single voice coil 4ohm so i can run it off of one channel and be all set. any help would be great.

when I had my trunk car i did port back sub back and folded my seats down and the shit got pretty loud. I can't say anything about armrest of up because ive never done it. Well I know with port up you will get a lot of flex.

I pretty much raped my brutus 1200 with my second battery. When I first installed my second battery behind my back seat it wasnt secured correctly and I ended up pulling the positive wire out of the ring terminal while having some fun in the snow last winter. So the battery was not being charged while playing the system 800w on the subs and 140w to the mids and highs. The amps eventually shut off and I thought I fucked both amps. Hook the wire back and tossed the batt on the charger and was good to go, still running the amps no problems. The battery was an spv70 and I ran the system off just one battery for like a week and a half to two weeks.
