Instead of 2 amps, think about 1 mono amp and wire the 2 subs together which would drop the amp down to 1 ohm.

I would get a Fosgate amp. They go well with Kicker subs. Maybe like the T1500-1bd or T2500-1bd. BTW, are they 2 ohm or 4 ohm?

$75 is a good deal. I bought this amp brand new back in 97/98. Here are the specs on it. http://www.rockfordfosgate.com/scripts/rig...ated=1083785077 I lost the birthsheet but I remember it puts out a little shy of 500 watts (it was 496 watts if I remember correctly). Mine got really really hot. I started commuting to work and it would cut out after like 45 or 50 minutes. I gave it to my buddy and picked up a T500-1bd. If I didn't make long drives I would have kept it.

Rockford Fosgate amps and Kicker subs.

Looks like that setup will work. You can go to Rockford Fosgate's website in the future. They have some great tools that will calculate everything for you. http://www.rockfordfosgate.com/rftech/woofer_wizard.asp

The Alpine type R's aren't in a box. I thought you said you couldn't build one and needed them in a box already? If so, I'd go with the Kicker CVR 10's. 12's will hit harder but the 10's are already in a box which is what you're looking for. You won't be disappointed with the CVR's. Trust me. http://houston.craigslist.org/ele/1390366661.html

Yeah I'd go with the power series as well. The few extra bucks is worth it.

I have the MRP-F550 at the normal 4 ohm running my inside speakers and it gets hot as ****.

My name is Chris and I've been into car audio since the early 90's. I found Steve's you tube page when doing a google search on my Rockford Fosgate amp and then found the forums from there.
