I was wondering what you guys think would be a good set of components for a inexpensive price? shopping for 6.5s or maybe 5 1/4s. Im needing 5 sets of them, looking to spend $60 ish a set, i know not alot but im on a budget with the new baby boy lol. What you guys think? Also i have a set of crystal components in my car now, i like them a lot, they compare closely to my old focal 165kp set. I cant find anything out about crystal components really so im asking if anyone knows anything about them? Thanks!!

I have a box built to specs for those subs right now that is sub up port back. Im going to try it. I'l probably build another firing up and try them both out....thanks for the opinions guys

Yes its replacing the back seats. so there is no hatch shape in the back of it. See in the past ive had better numbers with sub & port firing up. but with the square shape of it now, and being that its all 3" thick mdf and glassed air tight, i was wondering if it would be better port back? I have plenty of room to get my box airspace to do port facing up or back.

Well mostly was wondering what everyone thought would be the best design for what im building. the rear of the car where the box will be is all 90o angles. all square behind the seats if that matters.

Still unsure of what subs im going to use then. right now im using two dd 2500s. Sub up port up would help alot with the space issue. the box is literally the head rest for the front seats lol

Getting ready to start a build log for you all. Looking for opinions on the best box design for the buck. Its a 93 civic hatchback. its walled off 16'' from the rear of the car, the amps and batteries, air ride etc is in the rear. anyways i have around 36''wide, 38'' tall (to the roof) and 40'' from the wall to the seats. Im going to be using 2 15s, around 2k rms. Subs im using are spec'd to need around 3.5 cubes each. Id like to be tuned around 35 hertz. Size of the box isnt really important here, im just looking for the design ideas? Cone up port back? Cone up port up? wall it? Just building something for street beat right now. plan to wall it for 4 15s later this year. Any opinions would be great....Thanks

Ive used both as well, Never really noticed any difference. From what ive learned from other big spl competitors, Round ports are used when space is an issue, can tune higher or lower with more or less length. slot ports seem to take up alot more internal space. Also areo ports are easier to change out if ur goin from street beat to spl. Just my .02

I turn 22 in three days, I moved out when i was 16, moved out to race r/c as a profession. lived with my girl (she was 18) in an apt. until we broke up when I was 18. Got my own place and have never looked back. Rent a duplex now with a nice sized shop, engaged and have a 2 month old son. Attending some night classes now for auto body, welding, electrical engineering. I had a great home growing up, mom past when I was very young, but my dad busted his ass to make sure we ate. Nothing wrong with living at home, as long as you dont have everything handed to you. just my .02

Was wondering what one of these amps is worth used? Someone near me is trying to sell me one, it looks brand new, no major scratches. I popped er open and theres no dark spots. Hooked it up it sounds great. I've just not used RF amps often and was lookin for some input? What is it worth? Any info would be great thanks

There really is no need for one with car audio. People may say things differently but if u do some research you'll see that most of the big spl competitors do not use them. They can cause more voltage drops and add resistance more than help your batteries... Just my 2 cents fellas....

u should have one fuse between batts and one between the batt and amp. like this.... front batt-------fuse-------2nd batt------fuse-------amp The fuses on the amp dont always do their job, 9/10 times they do, but i have had two diff amps go from the fused not blowin....better safe than sorry imo

I like SMC valves also, alot of people know the gold valves from airbagit.com, but for the price they work well, and are cheap to rebuild. O-rings found at any parts store rather than buying a rebuild kit. But again its all personal preference. Just check around. Thorbeck brothers (suicide doors) have great costumer service also. Good guys for sure.

Im also interested in getting some prices on these batts. ive been running northstar 170s but im looking for something a little smaller.

My 93 civic hatch is on cylinders, 3/8 airridetech block and 6 gal tank. it rides amazing, i did however replace all the control arm bushing with poly ones. and made control arms for the front, cut some and made some bracing, but all in all it rides just as clean as my mini does.... Strut bags ride very smooth, not as fast, but they are nice, however usually do cost more so just do some lookin around. if you need some help tho def ask on here seems like these guys have some things to say as well.
