This. Also it's nice to get ideas from everyone on here, but it's also helpful to find one or two people to PM back and forth for ideas. A lot of people on here are extremely smart about this stuff. What I have right now is my first system, but I read a little bit before jumping into it. good luck.

My "first" car was a hatchback. A 1990 Ford Escort. Belt went on it too, interference motor. Don't know jack about cars and didn't have the money to fix it. Broke on the way home after buying it. Wish I could have fixed it, it was nice. And I could have done a nice system in it. I want a Honda CRX now though. What do you plan for this? Looks pretty clean for being such an old Honda.

He has a headunit which is no fair to me since I don't. BTW I don't know how to build a box, and he doesn't either. so we are screwed there. I was going to get type R but too many people have them imo. I'm getting a custom box built, jumping up to 1200 watts, getting a hu, and getting better wire, an amp for my mid high, some comps, and doing the big three. He will only be louder for a little bit. But that's my homie so it's all good. Thanks Marlo, I think that is pretty good for the money. I'm pretty sure between him and me we can find someone around here who does boxes.

Well, let's just say $500. Including installation stuff. I know it won't be the most amazing stuff, but I say I got a pretty good deal for $500.

OK, my friend who is waiting for his registration to be reviewed wants to put a system in his car. It's a 1998 Toyota Corolla. It's would be his first system. I'm the only person he knows with subs, and all I can recommend are RE subs and Hifonic amps since that's what I got. So if anyone can suggest a nice daily set up. Maybe 1 12" or 2 10"? He doesn't know the budget yet, but let's keep it small. Thanks guys.

Obviously desktops>laptops But I'm usually on the go and the laptop wins there. And my laptop is much faster than our desktop.

Hm, might just do the trunk with this. I want to get dual exhaust and want to be able to hear it inside hahaha.

Ah I see. So what would be a better amp for 2 12" RE SE subs? I'm willing to do more than the rms. And what would be a good amp for...let's say, 2 rear deck speakers, 2 6.5 speakers, and 4 tweets?

Well I decided to stick with RE for awhile and was looking at their USAmps. Doesn't seem like too many people on here us them though? Are they any good? I'm not getting them now and will do more research. I already have 2 12" RE SE subs, and will probably get some RE comps once I figure out how to fiberglass.

LOL. Yeah. I've only had my first system for a few weeks, and I already want to build a custom box, get a new amp, a aftermarket headunit, new tweeters and rear deck speakers. Ugh. Wish I had the money.

That's what I thought. It doesn't really have to go on the box. I have the space where it's at now. I just wanted it to look neater. I can probably get some rubber bushings though.

That is ok right? Like nothing bad can come from that? The thing is my amp keeps sliding around and the wires are slowly coming loose from the connections. I wanted to clean up my install a little too. It's my first one but I don't want to use that as an excuse.

I have the same amp, and from what i got from the manual was that you should use the + and - on the right.

Seeing this really makes me want to go buy a CRX(my favorite Honda) and do something like it. But I've only ever done one system and don't have the money to get another car. But one day, one day....

I cringe whenever I have to drive in a car with a stock system.
