Step downs are good for 25amps continuous and 50amps max, so you will need at least 2 but more like 3 to run your vehicle. Any way to add a second alternator? The wiring is one input wire and two output wires that step down to different voltages. Just pick the one that works best for you and wire them up.

Why wouldn't you just turn your charge voltage down to the 16V range and get a 14V charger to top the batteries of every couple weeks? That would be easier and more cost effective than running the step downs.

There really is not comparison between the XS Flex and XP Flex. The XS Flex is pure copper and the XP Flex is CCA cable. Here are some pics.

The D3400 could be switched with a battery of the same value or less, so yes trading it out with an XP1000 would be fine. If you wanted a battery bigger than the D3400 you could just pay the difference between the two.

Not sure if we will be doing the sale yet this year or not. We have a lot more online dealers, and would be taking business away from them. No definite answer yet though. Will let you know before to long.

It should allow you to vote for all of them, but that kind of takes a way from what is the most important to you. I agree all are important and every company should strive to offer each option, but kind of interesting to see what is most important to people.

Not really limiting to XS opinions. This was just a general question to the open forum on what they find most important. We made a big change in how our products ship and have seen a lot better results in items not getting damaged. We now use FedEx.

Posted this in a couple other forums and want to see what the response is here. When you purchase your batteries, wire, chargers, and other electrical accessories what is more important to you?

Started this thread so the SOTM thread doesn't get all jammed up with discussion. Same physical size as the D3100. More capacity than the D3100, but less instantaneous power and is for supplemental/secondary applications only. Another question on this, when is a D3100 generally NOT used in or as a secondary/supplemental battery application? What difference will the less instantaneous power make between the two? I am just curious as I have never seen the D3100 used as a primary replacement battery, this definitely interests me. Thanks! The D3100 is used under the hood in a lot of applications anywhere from Civics and Scions all the way to Suv and Trucks (just like Steve's Tahoe). The D3100 is the top performing Group 31 battery and will out perform the XP3000 when put side by side. The XP3000 is not designed for the under the hood use and can not take the heat from under the hood. It is designed more for capacity and has the lower price point.

Yes, the 2 D3400 will give you more power than 1 D3100.

Yes it will damage that battery. 12V chargers charge in the 14.4V range. 14V chargers charge in the 16.8V range. 16V chargers charge in the 19.2V range.

Yes, D3400 and if you are running side posts you will need Ibar Kit 551 or 555.

It may cost more to ship them FedEx or UPS, but at least that way you can track it and if something happens they will actually take care of you.

Isolator is not what you need in this application. Save that money and add a battery to the back. DO NOT FORGET to fuse the power cable coming off of the front battery and just before the back battery. A 3100 in the back isn't going to strain your alt too much, but you probably would be fine with a 3400.

Of course we have MSDS sheets made for all of our products and they are on file with UPS, FEDEX, and all of our other carriers, which makes it easy for us. Every company is supposed to have MSDS sheets for their batteries. We do not drop off shipments, because they come to us for pick up. We ship single batteries all the time and so do all of our online dealers and distributors. Heck we ship them all across the world with no problems at all. The post office just tries to find a reason to not have to ship it. You can give them the MSDS sheets and everything else that plainly states they are not hazardous, and then they will find another reason they cant ship it. Like I said above this is the main reason that companies do not ship to APO addresses any more, which sucks because why should the military not be able to get stuff shipped to their base? The thing that sucks is the fact that when you say battery they think of a wet cell battery, and the AGM batteries are totally different but they do not understand that. Powercell is much more understandable than saying battery. Doesn't raise as many questions, because they have no clue what it is.

welding equipment works also. If they don't believe you just tell them to short it out and see what happens. Then stand back a few feet from them and have your video camera ready.

No definite ending date, but I would guess through the month of October for sales direct through us. Dealers and distributors can offer whatever they would like up until January 1st.
